Good music?

Hey, I am looking for some ways to expand my music library. So I was wondering, who do you listen to? They don't need to be Christian, they just need clean lyrics. I am looking for some rock, and alt rock stuff. If you know something similar to the sound of the poets of the fall, thats what I like (feel free to suggest anything even if it doesn't sound in the least bit like them). Also, please don't suggest Hawk Nelson.... I used to like them, however I have gotten really tired of them, and have since deleted them from my ipod.

So please post your suggestions!

Thanks!

U2's "No Line on the Horizon" album.
Trans-Siberian Orchestra.
MXPX
Project 86
Collective Soul
Delirious

With the exception of MXPX, I recommend all of these bands on the quality of their lyrics. Given that all of the members of U2 are Christians now (this is a more recent change to their lineup's beliefs,) Trans-Siberian Orchestra's core band are all Christians, you can pretty much see yourself in safe hands.
The jury is still out on Collective Soul, however, although it's pretty obvious from their lyrics that they are often writing and singing about Jesus, I believe their still on the road of trying to decide whether or not to serve him.

There's also an indie band called Junkyard Poets around where I live that's pretty good. I'd check out their stuff, which you can do by following this link and clicking on "Junkyard Poets Media Player" on the right side of the menu bar.

Interested in Christian Melodic Metal-Core? That is about all I listen to...but it is a bit heavy...not for everyone... (ex. Demon Hunter, Oh Sleeper, Haste the Day, For Today, Living Sacrifice, Sleeping Giant, Becoming the Archetype, Destroy the Runner, Brian "Head" Welch) ...I am not into Screamo, but I like Death Metal...if any of the bands listed "scream", it is a Death Metal "scream", not a screamo "scream"...

My favorite: the violet burning

I believe they have cussing in one song - bleeped out in most versions with a guitar sound but they have a bootleg version that is uncensored. Note that the one album they have for download (free) is from about 1990 and is different from their stuff in more recent years.

Another possibility is to head over to Pandora and start a "station" based on Poets of the Fall. The player lets you decide if you like a particular song's sound, and adjusts your playlist based on each song that you like/dislike.

You might find a few good artists that way.

Ye. I don't listen to the poets of the fall though. They have nice sounding stuff, however I'm a little uncomfortable with them. I like their sound though :)

Pandora FTL, I much prefer Last.FM...the features of Pandora just don't seem to reach those of Last.FM, and Last.FM gives you unlimited skips...for free... But if you are looking for a rather simple take on internet radio and finding new artist...Pandora does work...for the most part...

Yuck, I went to Last.FM after Pandora gave Canadians the boot. I much preferred Pandora.

I use Jango off and on now, but I still want Pandora.

I got some collective soul. They are nice :)
Also I use last.fm for the unlimited skips :)

radiou.com has good stuff. it's a non-profit, donation-funded radio station here in westerville that plays all sorts of christian (well, not always christian music, but christian member-ed bands) stuff. hip hop, electronic on saturday nights, hardcore show on friday nights, metal mondays. they also have a tv station, TVU LIVE, it's on the same website.

i've been listening to a lot of Infectious Grooves though...early 90's funk metal. good stuff

and now that i have earbuds, i spend a lot of time killing the battery on my droid with pandora. though, it still plays a fair amount of stuff i don't like too much.
