cedega or winex. What do you need windows for? if it's office..openoffice can hndle it for hte most part(not totally..yet)..most windows functions are doable nativly in Liunx. However there are circumstances where windows is required.
i need it for a cd-labeler thingy that can print "pretty" design labels i can stick onto the cd's we make of ther sermons.

umm yeah, so far they want me to subscribe or something to download, thats what i found when googling. what bout http://www.winehq.com/site/download ? would that work, and if so, which one do i dl, im useing cent os

download this, the i386 rpm for centos. Have fun getting it working, I tried and didnt do something right.

Wine. Use Ubuntu, and wine will work wonderfully. I have been able to get World Of Warcraft running at a very reasonable frame rate using Wine and some guides on the Ubuntu wiki. I highly reccomend both Wine and Ubuntu.

Has anyone been able to get Half-Life 2 and other Source games to play nice with Wine? I need to be ready to jump ship (from Windows to Linux) once M$ releases Windows Vista.

Just out of curiosity, I'm done dling Ubuntu and going to try the live cd first, and if i like it (it uses GNOME i believe, which i've used before) then i'll install the distro on my second partition.

If you don't like Gnome, you may like KDE. Kubuntu is the same as Ubuntu, except it uses KDE instead. =)

I downloaded Ubuntu, but it couldn't find the correct screen resolution. It was stuck in 640x480. I would have to install it to my hard drive to try any of the fixes that have been posted for it, so I may use an older version of Ubuntu for now, that doesn't have that issue.

I have seen a post about steam and linux..try poking around on linux-gamers.net
