Google makes us happy today!!!

The only info on it is a comic showing the features, the main alteration is that they will run tabs as separate processes and ensure java/html/etc run parallel and not in sequence to prevent hung-apps. I think if they have done all they say they have, it will be faster than a cheetah full of laxatives and encourage new ways of developing content..

However the google, release first, fix later regime might mean its a little while before we see a fully robust version.

I'm running it right now and its a dog... Its sending my Comodo firewall crazy too... Hopefully it will sort itself out in a little bit.

I may pass on this until the "official" release.

I don't mind beta testing a game, but I'm not going to risk doing so with my browser.

The only problem I have with it is that opening new tabs is pretty slow, but that is explainable due to it launching a new process for each. It is basically safari, but fed steroids for a few months and forced to exercise. It even has the element inspector from safari which I love :P

Now all it needs is adblock plus, mac and linux versions, and a bookmark sync and I will be happy. I probably wont be using it as a primary browser, as I have wayyy to many bookmarks to keep them synchronized between browsers.

actually i thought tabs were pretty smooth. also i ahd issues not being able to use rss feeds and .mov plugin is broken

I need "no script" for it...

However, this is just another step in Google's "Steps to world domination" plan...and I am so supporting them...

Google to release browser today, not the official source, I cannot seem to find it, but it works for now... http://blogs.zdnet.com/BTL/?p=9850

The browser is open source. Chances are there will be derivatives out shortly that eliminate any monitoring. Right now it is opt in to report crash locations and browsing statistics.
