google talk is live

i'll wait for the trillion version to come out

Xfire 4tw. I really can't see myself using YET ANOTHER instant message service. That may change if it becomes more integrated with Gmail, though. I really do like Gmail.

^^ same goes for me

i really like gtalk. You can add anyone from your gmail adress book aslong as its a gmail adress. It notifies you when you get an email and gives you a little information about it. you can see what i mean in this screenshot http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v368/bleedthroughpain/gmailnotifi.jpg

Another cool thing i like is that it saves the last bit of your conversation with someone. Here is a screen http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v368/bleedthroughpain/gtalkcon.jpg look at the time stamp for the last messege sent and the time on my computer =P

I think this is a really nice IM program and i will hopefully use it alot if i can get people on my buddy list =P

Google Notifier does the same thing :) I have it installed on my home computer. It is a nice feature though.

Trillian and MSN Messenger 7.0 feature this as well, if you know how to enable it. With MSN, I installed Messenger Plus and that's how I got that feature.

It does look nice and "google-ish" though, so I will give it props for that.

It already works on Trillian, but you need to have Trillian Pro. Search for it on google, I've seen a couple tutorials. It involves installing the Jabber Plugin and connecting to the googletalk server instead of the jabber servers.

:D

I configured Trillian Pro to connect to the Google Talk Jabber server. You can find me on Google Talk as gummyzergling AT gmail DOT com. Feel free to add me to your buddy list. :)

EDIT: If anyone on Google Talk could send me a message, I'd appreciate it. I'd like to test my client and make sure it works.

You may be waiting for some time Talon, rumor has it they won't release jabber support to the basic version. I am using the open source GAIM with great success. I'd suggest it strongly. You'll find my GL address apearse a t gmail.com

Sighs, ok. I'm already running trillian and xfire. Oh look, another process to run, good thing i have 1gb of ram.

*edit* err nvm, it takes the place of gmail notifier

compmil [at] gmail [dot] com

Anyone know how to make the google talk show up in icon tray instead of the task bar? Like winamp
