Graphics Card Help

Judging by the sound emanating from my computer it's about time for me to replace my old school geforce 7600gt. I am on a pretty strict budget, but if my computer dies I can't make money (graphic designer... doh!). So I'm looking online to buy a new card.

I'm looking at http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=348736&CatId=3669 (29.99 after rebate).

I hate having to buy a card on a budget... but is this card gonna be ok? If you have any different suggestions try to keep the price down! haha

I basically play WoW and do graphic design on my computer. So... base any suggestions off of that knowledge! :)

I just bought a GT 430, which I believe is the direct upgrade from the card you linked. I believe it was about $60 from Newegg (with a $20 rebate that I'll count as a bonus if I ever receive; I try to ignore them when comparing prices). For running WoW, it works really well, letting me put everything on High settings (with a good processor and memory - WoW is very processor dependent).

I would go with something like that, or take a look at the comparable AMD cards. I just think you might be getting something pretty out of date with the GT 220 and find yourself upgrading again really soon.

Looks like a decent card for the price, but take LOTS of photocopies of the rebate material, I hear Zotac is horrible for rebates, takes like 3x times contacting them to ever get it.

I've never seen a rebate come back from them unless you contact them when you're rebate is supposed to be coming back.

I took Wugan's advice and went with the GT430 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130579) and signed up for a new account so I could get $10 off my first order.. and if I get the rebate it'll be a grand total of $35. Not too bad.

All I gotta say..... why didn't my computer hardware start breaking down when I was working consistently or had some money? haha. Oh well.... gotta do what I gotta do.
