Guild Meeting Notes - 9Sep05

DZwart

Legacy of Elijah Officer
SoE Guild meeting – 9Sep05 – 10:15pm Eastern

  • Agenda – Pastori Mastersson ([toj.cc]WildBillKickoff)
    • Promotion
    • PvP plans
    • Witnessing
    • Round Table Discussion
  • Sydney Ablaze (ewoksrule) has been promoted to officer. He will be in charge of updating the guild of game changes/updates through the forums.
  • PvP – 2 issues; 1) 2 sets of groups (early and late) and 2) No set night/time for PvP or GvG.
    • Proposal for 10PM EST on Fridays for PvP or GvG – too late for early group
    • Proposal for 2 groups one in afternoon, one in evening – proposed 7pm and 10pm (Eastern Time Zone – so 6/9 Central, 5/8 Mountain, 4/7 Pacific) start on Fridays. Players present to decide what format (PvP Team Arena, Tombs, GvG) to play.
    • Discussion of proposal – no major objections to this as start point – potential for added times or different days and guild pick up groups if enough members are on at a different point. Also, start time does not mean specified end time for those on Pacific time who will likely be playing longer/later than those in the Eastern time zone.
    • Please post preferred time/group (Fridays at 7pm Eastern or Fridays at 10pm Eastern) on this thread. We will consolidate list into one post once most have replied.
    • Recommend using Teamspeak for these organized events. Even if you don't have a microphone, you can still listen in. - Link to thread with Teamspeak Server Info
  • Witnessing / Evangelism
    • Difficult if person doesn't want to discuss Christianity, could result in account bans. If someone resists, do not push – stop.
    • Suggest more of a live by example and look for opportunities for more 1-on-1 or team chat environments, not “soapbox” preaching. ORPG is often escapism witnessing could be an unwelcome intrusion. A balance is needed to find the right time to bring it up. Suggestions:
      • Try to run missions with a few pick-ups slots open to allow the possibility of starting a conversation.
      • Add potentials to buddy list for possibility of follow up and build relationships.
      • Help along low levels
      • Treat people with respect
      • Point out our forums – allow them to look in at us closer.
    • As a general rule, please don't spam all-chat about our guild.
    • Suggestion for witness volunteers – someone to answer questions and follow up or assist after initial contact is made. Rather than having someone “on duty” use Guild chat to look for answers or support if you feel you need help.
    • Try to stick to the Bible and what it says, don't get tied up in denominational differences. Distinction is a belief in Christ, not being a “church” or denominational member. If someone asks, just state that we agree to disagree on some minor points.
  • CGA site has Religious Discussions section we can use for threads of that type if interested.
  • Thank you from Pastori for staying orderly and on-topic :)
  • Lana (Mr_Slice) praised the group for the development of good fellowship among the members. :)
  • No set schedule for future meetings – Pastori will call one when he feels there is a need.

In addition to your preferred PvP/GvG time, please let me know if I have left anything that you feel was important out of this list.

Excellent meeting, excellent minutes. Wish I could have been there. Good to be able to fellowship with believers even as I plow through the environs of GW.

Yes, great job. I tried my best to log on to be there. I had my laptop here with me on this business trip, but it took until today to figure out my friends weird cable modem issues and get on line.

I truly appreciate the promotion and am honored. I would like everyone to know, that when I am in game I am always available for questions. I don't have all the answers but I have many and I know most of the great places to look up the info for you in a flash. So don't hesitate to ask anything of me you need.

Also, I plan to be available more for our lowbies in the Guild, if you see me on asking if anybody needs company, invite away. I will gladly log on one of my lowbie chars and join you.

You guys are awesome and it has been a blast getting to know many of you. I hope you are enjoying the game and the fellowship. God has blessed us all with the computers that run the game and the time to play and enjoy them. Remember to give all the glory to Him.

See ya in game when I get back from San Antonio.

Ciao ciao
