I got Guild Wars: Nightfall Collectors Edition for my birthday...which is today in case you were wondering. I'll see you all on the flip side.

Tip for those collecting Sunspear promotion points when you have not reached Castellan level yet and/or leveling up henchies:

Start at Yohlon Haven. Take the Arkjok Ward exit. Talk to the Wandering Priest just outside the door to get your insect bonus. That used to be the extent of my trip. There is more.

Travel north along the left wall. Not far is the Marga Coast portal. Do not enter it. Instead there is another priest just outside that portal that gives you the Mandragor bonus.

Now the fun begins. Everything to the East and Southeast of those 2 portals (with the exception of a few monkeys and some plants way far east) are either insects or Mandragors.

Enjoy. Rinse, repeat. Castellan or level 20 henchies in no time.

Tip #2 (mission spoilers here so be aware):

Gates of Madness mission (I think this is the next to last mission in Nightfall)

I think this is the hardest mission I have ever done with my Monk. We were on the verge of disaster the entire mission.

Energy management is super critical here. It seemed like I was always less than 5 energy. It was a maddening wait to build up to 5......pop off a Word of Healing......and wait for next 5 energy points.

The main tip is when you get to the Lich and Shiro. Always kill the Lich first. He is not a problem.

There are two skills necessary to kill Shiro. Warriors need Wild Blow to get him out of his stances. Necros (or Necro secondaries) need an elite called Spoil Victor (when they ask for SV here don't confuse it with Sympathetic Visage that is needed in the UW).

It is very frustrating to get to Shiro and not be able to kill him. I know......been there, done that. Learn from Halonic's mistake.

This mission is tailor-made for an all-guild or all-alliance group (hint, hint officers). As guildies progress in the game I anticipate many requests for guild help on this one (aka Thunderhead Keep in Prophecies).
 
Kel is there and Rho is not far behind and we are always willing to help. Hal and Kel were on both of those attempts earlier and Hal is SOOOOO right Wild blow made all the difference.
 
Well, I'm still out of town. I did get to play for about a week. I have a level 10 Dervish/Monk named Kojo Nagesh. I got ferried to consulate docks, and bought max armor also. I really like the look of the 15k primeval armor, so I'll probably get that. My Ele is the only character that I've bought 15k for.
 
Speaking of Nightfall, is there a game guide available? None of the local game shops have one? I'm not able to find much online either about quests or missions.

Do not get a game guide at ANY store from ANY publisher for ANY MMORPG, CORPG, or the like. Within a few months, they're obsolete and you have to buy a new one. (Like SW: Galaxies. I saw a game guide for like 25 dollars at an EBgames and a month later they did the ginormous redo of the whole system)

Hey im at Castelean and they wont give me any more hunts... did i mess up my only chance at max sunspear title. The only way i can get Sunspear points is through quests. i hope i didnt mess this up. :(
 
No, this is intended for now, I found a huge locked gripe thread on a fansite forum (guru, I think). The title is limited to Castelean right now (although I heard that if you farm points before cashing in ANY quests, you can make it with native Elonian characters). Speculation is that the elite mission will require max sunspear rank to enter the mission. There is a post from Gaile Grey that says something about adding the elite mission in a "major update" near Christmastime. Not sure what else may be coming in that "major update."

Anyone know where I can get sunspear points now that I have reached the Castellan lvl?

From what I saw on GWGuru forums, you won't be able to get any more Sunspear points until the "major update" goes live in a month or so.

not sure (i havent finished the last level) but yesterday as i logged on i saw a elite mission type thing for player who have finished the game (i am assuming that it is the mission for Sunspear points). there was also a new build so i think that the new mission for the Sunspear points is now open and working. anyone that is done can confirm/disfirm(?)
