So I know this is true for both me and my wife, and I beleive I've heard others comment on it...

It's really confusing to walk into GvG for the first few times. Especially when people help you out by saying things like "Run the flag" but do not include details about where the flag is, where you're supposed to run it to, or anything like that.

I think I understand 75% of this stuff, but I was curious... is there something we could refer people to get the general concept and such down before they try playing. So they don't end up getting left behind the first few times. Or if there isn't, Maybe one of our more GvG obsessed members could come up with something (*stares at Bueatiful Colorodo*)

Let Derk write it......Dredd won't use punctuation so you won't be able to understand it anyway. In my old school days the teachers called that a "run-on sentence". Now I don't know what Mad Dogg Matt's english teacher calls it...but I guarantee it won't be "run-on sentence".
 
heh, least i use commas to space out what i write for clarification on matters such as this one, becuase commas are a great tool in a writers handbook of life, in regards to the issue of writing something for GvG, technically Derk is our GvG Coordinator so yeah, however becuase of Dredds l337 skills in not useing punctations, like me, i believe he would be an excellent candidate.

just to let u know, i used 1 punctation in that entire thing

I think I remember my teacher using the same term. You know, between naps....
 
Don't get me started. The current state of the English language is one of my pet peeves. I am a perfectionist, but I do proofread as part of my job, so that could explain it.

Who am I kidding? I'm a perfectionist. Enough said.
 
Like I have said before, " I am actually good at English but I hate it." Usually if I know we have new people and they are on TS I like to show everyone where the flag is and where the Flag stand is, that is the easiest way to show new players. Basically the object of GvG is to kill the other team's Guild Lord. The flag stand at the center of the map gives who ever has there flag on it a Moral Boost every 2 Minutes. This helps keep your Death Penalty down. Everytime a team hangs a flag the other teams flag is returned to their base. Also to get into the other team/s base when the gates are closed is by using out guild thief. You can get the Guild thief to follow you by talking to it. The Guild thief is than led to the lever to open the other team's gate. If the guild thief is killed she will rez every two minutes as well. That is pretty Much GvG in a nutshell.

Dredd man, you are always finding ways to impress me. I've never seen you use so many complete sentences at once - and only 1 run- on! Mirawyn will be so proud of you! (but don't expect any cookies)

Shame on you for napping through your English class. If you keep that up, you are going to turn out just like Dredd man! Just wait, before you know it you will be deleting your male characters and creating all female ones! :p

Actually, a new flag spawns in a team's base when we place our flag on the flag stand OR an opposing team member picks up our flag from the ground. So if you take the flag stand, you can have a second flag placed on the ground nearby to retake the flag stand if the other team manages to run one in, as long as they don't return our backup flag themselves. If you are about to take the flag stand and the opposing team's flag is on the ground nearby, it is a good idea to have someone pick up that flag before placing our flag so they can't quickly retake it.

Pastori has started a new thread with GvG Details. I will add some more detail to that thread, including this explanation of flag mechanics.

I just wanted to thank you guys for your helping with the talk I did on how to grow for the Youth. I really hit them hard with it and I got really deep. The kids really liked it and I got alot of comments. I told them four main points of why to grow.

1- God will bless you with the fruit of the spirit.
2- We are called to set the wrong right in the world
3- Make Christs death count for something.
4- The patterns of this world will never satisfy.

Main topic was why grow in christ.

I also should a clip of the Pasion of the Christ.

Thanks alot guys. I also thinks its so awesome on how we have a Bible study on line! Its way cool! I have one befor that here on campus. I still can't thank you guys enough for your input.

Oh sure, blame Mirawyn, the truth is your other female character became jealous and mind-controlled you to delete her competition. Confess your crime man, we'll be there to support you. After we laugh at you a bunch first, of course.

My remaining female character is a ranger/mesmer. But she has no points for domination magic, so I call this accusation baseless.

And of course I blame Mirawyn. And I will continue to blame her until I receive cookies!!!
 
If there are voices telling you that you shouldn't have female characters, I can't help you with that. I only sought insight into the reasons behind people's choices.

Maybe it's your motivation for playing female characters that has you feeling guilty?
