How does a iPod shuffle work?

I'd be running around outside with one headphone thing in one ear, so I'd need something a bit more durable with no moving parts. That's why for me, flash based=t3h b3tt3r

I threw my rio carbon across the room, still worked. It is hard drive based. I beleive, depending on the drive, it takes a sudden aceleration change of >5G to cause them to go awry.

PSP FTW

plays music, movies, games (which Ipod doesnt play games as far as i know)

i mainly use mine for music, it has pretty much infinite room (just buy another mem stick) it came with 2 batteries and can buy more if needed. only hard part is the price tag. i got mine used for about 200-250$ i think, 1gig mem is about 100$ 512 is about 50$ and it doesnt come with one. but if u have the 300$ it is definitley worth it, can also surf the web if oyu have a wireless router (bought one just for it lol) cna watch tv on it to with a locationfree player. i've dropped it like 10 times and had it fo r over a year and only prob i had was the week or so when it wouldnt play any games/movies, it would jsut continually load them (had that problem twice) which fixed itself eventually.
