I found a new build at Guru...

I just thought you should know that I actually busted out laughing at your post...hilarious.

You must have some of my blood in you. I really did laugh out loud at the bunny with the pancake on his head. I vote this Soup's number one post, hands down.

Woohoo! Post #800!
And it only took four months...

Hmm, guess I better step up my post rate. I'm only almost halfway, and I only joined a month after you.

...so here is a bunny with a pancake on his head.

C$, I stand in awe and respect of your level of silliness.

Paul and I were referencing a scene in The Life of Brian (Monty Python). I recognize it because he quotes it often....

Dauntless's post was a commentary on ours.

Does that help?

ah, haven't seen that one. hope to remedy that someday, i'm a fan of mpfc's work, with the excepteion of the Meaning of Life. that movie should have never been made.

or watched by any male.

(yes, i have seen MoL, and i do regret it.)

Life of Brian is a very witty movie. Takes a couple of viewings I think to really "get" all the lines, but overall I think there's more funny stuff in here than most of the other MP movies combined. Here are a few examples of lines that make it hard NOT be highly amused with this movie:

Brian: "PLEASE, PEOPLE! WE SHOULD UNITE AGAINST THE COMMON ENEMY!"
Everybody: "THE JUDEAN PEOPLE'S FRONT?"
Brian: "NO, NO, THE ROMANS!"
Everybody: "Oh, yea."

Emperor: "Centuwion, stwike him very woughwy..."
Brian: [blam] "AAAAAARG!"
Emperor: "So now, you Jewish Wat-Scawion..."
Brian: "I'm not a Jew! I'm a Roman!"
Emperor: "You'we a Wo-man?"
Brian: "No, no. ROMAN." [blam!] "AAAAAARG!"

Reg: "And what did the Romans ever give us???"
[extended session of dialogue deleted]
Reg: "All right. But apart from the sanitation, the medicine, education, wine, public order, irrigation, roads, the fresh water system, and public health...what have the Romans ever done for us?"

Reg: "If you want to join the People's Front of Judea, you have to REALLY hate the Romans."
Brian: "Oh, but I do."
Reg: "Really? How much?"
Brian: "A lot."
Reg: "Alright, you're in."

By the way, the extended cut of this movie ROCKS. That shephard scene at the beginning is one of the funniest scenes I've ever seen in any movie. Basically, the shephards are too busy killing each other to notice the angel appearing to them to reveal the birth of the Savior. This scene was removed out of fear that it would be perceived as sacreligious. As it turned out, they shouldn't have bothered, because there was widespread christian condemnation and boycotting anyway. In my opinion, this was nothing more than a knee-jerk reaction from people who never bothered to read the movie's script or see it, because the movie is not sacreligious at all. Though it can be condemned for occasional vulgarity and some brief nudity, it doesn't ever make fun of Jesus or paint him to be some kind of charlitan. Rather, it focuses on making fun of all the malcontents and political factions that tend to blind themselves from the truth in the pursuit of their own agendas.

Except that I really dislike the movie, too. And yes, I HAVE seen it. Again and again and again...

AND I have had the listed scenes quoted to me.

Again and again and again...

You dislike the movie because you've seen it and don't like it, for whatever reason. There's nothing wrong with that at all! I was referring to people who dismissed it WITHOUT ever seeing it or reading the script, not people who saw it and decided they didn't like it.

By the way, your claims of repeated viewing and quoting are GREATLY exaggerated. We don't even own the movie and I have not seen it for YEARS.

And really, you have quoted the movie much more frequently than I. You're the one who used to always respond to my question: "How much do you love me?" by saying: "More than Bwian hates the wo-mans". ;)
