steam still crashes for me on the toj server.. i was 9-1 and got the blackscreen of death.. all i could do is reboot.. i thought they sorted this with a patch?

The patch that came out this last week was to fix a memorry error when shells were ejected from a gun. Sounds like your issue is something else.

That patch corrupted something on mine and I was forced to re-download and reinstall CS but after that it worked perfectly.

Maybe try a complete uninstall reinstall of cs?
