You don't need to be religious, or Christian, to follow that tenet.

The "Golden Rule" is the foundation of Morality in any society, with or without, religion.

I level the same charges at you.

You turn a blind eye to the atrocities and hatemongering solicited by your God, hiding behind His Sovereignty.

If your God does exist, He has a lot to answer for.
 
My God has nothing to answer for. He is God. I know that God wants the best for me as His child.

When humans kill those who are different and believe differently, they are evil. Yet when God does it, it is right?

As much as you can say God can do anything He wants, why should He expect us to behave when he didn't do it himself, especially in the OT?

If a god you DIDN'T follow committed the same atrocities as yours, you'd be horrified and appalled.
 
think of god's love as so much, that you would die for someone. think about it. did you watch the passion of christ. would you go through that? even if you were ABSOLUTELY perfect, never lusted, never lied, never coveted, never did ANYTHING WRONG!!! wow. would you get your hand nailed with blunt nails and both your feet? would you be whipped? would you be willing to be tortured until the point of near death? think about it. i would not be able to... even for all my friends and parents... it's hard to think about
 
Plenty of men have given their lives, in ways just as horrible, for their fellow man. NOT ALL OF MANKIND, but just ONE MAN.

It's happened throughout history.
