It appears that they are having an issue with the chip within certain Core i5 and i7 processors.

it's the sata controller..not the cpu itself. only the mobos are under recall not the cpu's.

I don't really understand this. It isn't blowing up or anything, just a 'potential' fault that may come on in a few years time. A very unlikely chance too. Most people with actual important stuff back up, so wouldn't it be much cheaper to fix the problem when it happens?
