I've been reading a lot of reviews lately and I think that EVE Online might be for me. I'm a casual gamer. Some nights I'll play three hours, others none. I like to make my own way, not power-level and try to be the first to accomplish something. I want options, choices... I want to experience a world completely and carve my own little piece of it out instead of being just another Night Elf druid. Heck, after watching Firefly, I don't even want a battleship. Just a couple guns and a fast ship with plenty of cargo holds.
Anyway, as I said, I'm a casual gamer. Married with kids and not always at the computer. I also go out to sea for weeks at a time since I'm in the Navy. From what I understand, though, my wife could relatively easily keep my avatar learning skills so that when I came back I'd be stronger, faster, better.
Is there much of a ToJ presence in EVE Online? As a newbie I'd expect to have to do a lot on my own and that's okay, but it's also nice to sometimes have an escort when you first venture into a big game world. Just feeling out opinions and such of what you think and how you enjoy this game, before I make my final decision.
