OK, time for the next step. We had 9 names at the conclusion of the nomination process. 3 of those nominees decided not to run, leaving 6. 2 of those 6 haven't gotten back to me or Cass so we're leaving them off the slate for now. And that leaves the four brave souls who are ready and willing to stand for election:

* Flamethrower
* Goodwone
* Reco
* Shagz

Here's the process from here on out:
1) Each of the candidates should post in this thread a not-too-lengthy statement about their qualifications, about why they'd like to be co-GL, and what they'd like to accomplish as co-GL. NO ONE ELSE SHOULD POST IN THIS THREAD, JUST THE FOUR NAMES ABOVE. For the four, please do this by end of Sunday, 1/10/10.
2) On Sunday, I'll add to those this post voting instructions for everyone. Voting will be done via in-game mail, running through Friday 1/15/10.
3) The candidate with the highest vote total will be elected co-GL for a term running until January 2011. The candidate with the 2nd-highest vote total will be elected co-Gl for a term running until April 2010. The other two candidates will get to carry the water bottles (just kidding!).

If you have any questions, please PM Cassadine or myself. Again, don't post in this thread, or it'll be deleted.

Thanks,

Gilga

Hi folks. In all honesty, now that I see the candidate list, I'd rather be campaigning for the 3 others on the list but I wouldn't be able to decide who for! They have all been awesome contributors to the guild and that is what someone should be first to become ultimately a guild leader, a humble servant. Faithful, faithful, faithful. Flame with his guild bank organizing and hot lists and pitching in in so many other areas, always willing to help anyone anytime. Shagz with his spiritual guidance, gentle patience, Wed night Bible study and raid leadership and wonderful fun sense of humor. High energy can do Reco hanging in there leading the team on kewl raids and pvp, and so many other things they all do as individuals to support, lead, guide and be team players for this guild. Thanks to all of you, you make Redeemed an awesome place to fellowship and play this goofy game. How do you campaign against your heroes, hehe.

I'm just a nuts and bolts administrator, an over-organized list keeper communicator, if the roster is updated and detailed, thats me pestering you for your specs so i can put them in your notes for the raid leader so he can see who is what spec and put a great team together, or helping get the raid policys updated and pointing new members to them, or pestering to get raid leaders to be sure to put up the schedule, or trying to plug in new people so they don't feel so lost in a new guild environment or answering wonkish questions when I can. Stuff you really don't have to be guild leader for, so my request is for all of you to pick two of the above, and vote cause I think they would all bring a lot of energy, and vision and new enthusiasm to the job of guild leader!

Well I guess I'll start of by giving a little background. I live in Akron, OH, am 28 years old, and have been married for a year and a half. I've been a Christian and active member of my church since childhood.

I'll break the rest down so it's not too long - you still have two more to read :)

Why I'd like to be Co-Guild Leader:
As a "casual" player, I enjoy lots of stuff in this game. Between all my professions and alts, I've found a great opportunity to run a 'free items' program in the guild. My idea of a fun time in-game is not only fighting with and improving my characters, but also doing anything I can to help my fellow players, both in-guild and out. I by no means know all the ins and outs of every aspect of the game (see your class leaders), but I feel that as a co-guild leader, I would be able to be a great help to all guild members that need it.

I feel that the way we interact with other players in the game is crucial. I have a strong desire for Redeemed to have a good name in our server and anyone else we may interact with. This includes everything from speaking gently to other people (even in trade), to knowing your class and playing it well while grouped with others.

My qualifications:
I've had several leadership experiences in my life:
- Created and led a young adult's Sunday School Class at my church
- I help to lead the Worship Team at my church (I play guitar)
- I ran a retail clothing store as the manager, managing over 50 employees
- I've been the guild banker for over 9000 (minutes)!
- I'm a gnome. +5% Intellect makes a difference.

What I'd like to accomplish:

- Get the Flame's Hot Items Program up and running, giving out free stuff to our guild members.
- I'd like to get the name of Redeemed out into the server as a guild of caring, loving, and Christ-like members. I want anyone who sees the guild name <Redeemed> to know what we stand for.
- I'd also like to live up to the standards set by some great leaders that came before. This guild has had some great leadership and ideas in the past, and I'll do my best to maintain that sort of leadership in the future.

God Bless you all - make sure to pray for the guild during this time of transition!

1 Corinthians 10:31 - So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.

Wow, I like Flame's post. So I'll follow suit.

About me...this will be my 3rd time running for GL, so I'd just like to thank all the people who ever finished ahead of me in the voting...(Jad, Cass, Sazul, Gilga - hey, you're on the list!!)

Okay all kidding aside.

Why I'd like to be a Co-GL
Keeping this short - There is a lot that I can say about Redeemed and what it means to everyone who joins. Its a place that Christians can find a safe place to game and have fun doing it. But what I feel the guild needs right now is a little time of recovery and healing. I'm not going to pretend that a lot has happened recently with many members, but remember that Redeemed was starts with God. And when we get that right, this is THE strongest guild in game imo.

Qualifications
1. HUMAN mage - I'll hold off on the gnome jokes.
2. College Pastor for 6 years now, currently working at a church in Vista, CA. Formerly worked as an EMT for 2 years, and in restaurant management for 3.
3. Class Leader twice (took a small break from the game), Guild Liason, very part-time RL.
4. Samboe's facebook friend

I'd like to see
We have some amazing raid leaders with great ideas for our guild which doesn't need any changing. With the next x-pac not too far away, I'd love to be make that transition as a guild.

A big thing is outreach. Its a churchy word that means a lot of things. To me, its simply getting people to know who Redeemed is, the kind of amazing people that are in it, and letting that lead to opportunities to show Christ. There have been a lot of ideas and attempts at this, and one thing to make clear - just because it might not have worked, doesn't mean its a failure. ANY opportunity to show God in game is worth it to me.

As far as specific plans, no idea yet. We'll see what happens this year and roll with it.

God Bless all!

Well I have to say I am in agreement with Goodwone. I am honored to share company with these 3 outstanding individuals. I however still would be honored to have the opportunity to serve Redeemed in a Co-Guild Leader position.

Why Reco?
I have been around the guild for quite sometime. I joined Redeemed with my first toon on the Stonemaul server and leveled my Priest, Paster, up to 60. That was back in the day when 60 was the level cap. I rolled a Priest because as a WoW player I enjoy endgame content and love to raid. I saw a need at the time for healers and we didn't have enough active Priests. Later, after we gained more healers I saw a need for geared people so I transfered Reco from Warsong to Stonemaul and ran MC untill my eyes bled, trying to help gear people out. I got the honor to see many accomplishments, like Sazul get the Legendary sword from the quest out of MC.

So what does all this have to do with me being a Guild Leader? Its simple. I care about Redeemed. I want it to be healthy, vibrant and uplifting for our members and for those who are watching us. I know the personalities of the movers and shakers in the guild and how to work with them. I know the long standing members present and past and all the good and bad that goes with that. This all is extremely important when hard decisions must be made or the guild future is being determined. I personally, in real life have much leadership experience running a large business and serve as a board elder in my home church. I am a husband of 20 years and have two children ages, 14 and 11. I even have ran for election to the MN state house. I know I have the ability to not only be guild leader but fullfill my commitment to the term I am elected too.

My Vision for Redeemed

I have alot of ideas and I am very creative. Some who know me well may think because I have always been so actively involved in raiding and progression that I may push the guild in a more aggressive direction when it comes to raiding. It is true that I am very driven for progression and want a guild that can fullfill my personal craving for new content and exellence in that pursuit. I, however, come to the realization that I need to have patience and that Redeemd has many play styles. We do share one unique quality. We love our Lord Jesus Christ. The intent of Redeemed is to not only be a refuge for christians in a gaming community, but light and salt to those around us. As guild leader I will work hard to bring many different play styles together in unity. I will at the same time reach out to those who want end game content and exellence in raiding. I also would like to see a "Hit Team" that helps lowbies or people being camped and have some pvp fun. More on that if I get elected. :)

Future Challenges
There are always challenges that come up for officers or any leader for that matter. I am confident I will handle these matters fair and quickly. For example, something I see as problem coming is a lull in content this summer. My past experience has shown me when there is a lull of any sort in a organization that as a result "Drama" follows. I am ready for this challenge and will be proactive to make sure that we keep the game fun for all. I believe the biggest challenge for Redeemed is the sheer number of members we have. I will look for ways to help people feel welcome, included, and part of the Redeemed family.

Thanks again for those who nominated me. I am truly honored that people have put their confidence in me. I will not disapoint you all.

Thanks to the nominees! I'm closing the thread now.

Voting information:
1) Sent games via in-game mail to Redballot
2) Vote for TWO names from the above candidates. We're just going to tally votes, not #1 vs. #2 rankings, so we're just looking for 2 names per ballot. 1 name on a ballot will just count once for that person. 3 names on a ballot will result in the ballot being tossed and your being referred back to elementary school math.
3) Voting will close at NOON on FRIDAY JANUARY 15TH. Late votes will not be counted.
4) ONE VOTE PER PLAYER. Not per toon. If you sent votes from your main and your alt, both will be disqualified and you will be /gkicked.
5) FYI: the Redballot toon is owned by Gilga. Votes will be counted by Gilga and forwarded to Cassadine for double-checking.
6) If you have any other questions about process, let me or Cass know.

Thanks!

Gilga
