I was kind of surprised when I read this. Then again, it's probably also a reaction to Norway making iTunes illegal. A few other Eurpoean countries have followed suit.

this is posturing by jobs most likely. He will pull out of any market that makes fairplay illegal.

Probably due to the fact that the iPod is starting to suffer from competition. Now that there are cheaper alternatives to iTunes, he needs a bigger market to sell to.
