ok ladies and gents,
First off, it was great playing CS with all of you, but I feel strongly that GOd is calling me in another direction with my life. FOr those of you who do not know, I play this game at work, and when people see me play they ask, how can I be a christian and play such a horrible game. Well, a game is a game I told them. However it is an addicting game. I find myself sitting here at my desk all day instead of talking to the other co-workers about Christ, something that I used to do.

Like I said, it was great. I feel a stong urge from GOd to minister to the youth, and to provide them a place for them and their parents to have a resource for all kinds of information. Check out http://www.churchpunks.com in the newxt few weeks to see what I mean.

I would love it if someone wanted to drop me a line, and for now, adios.

Sorry to see you go, but glad you've listened to God's calling.
(I think it's cool how your employer allows you to install games in your work computer!)

The circumstances of your leave remind me of a ongoing (or, may I say, "evergoing"?) discussion about whether or not violent games would increase the hostility of youth/adults in the future. Quite frankly, this is an issue that popped in my head a while ago, and I thought to myself "Maybe this isn't an appropriate game after all." I heard arguments from both sides, and I'm still praying asking God for an answer.

It's been good having you around. God bless you in your endeavors. Take care.

Will miss you on the server i hope you will hang around chat and forums a bit so we can all stay in touch with you.

Will monitor your new project closely and send some prayers your way. Im sure God will bless the sacrifice youve made.

DrummerGirl,

I'm gonna quote Kidan's post from another forum that I found relevant, and brought peace to me. (thanks, Kidan!)

This says to not love the world.  But look closely at what it means, especially  in connection with the verses around it.  We should not love (agapeo) the world, rather that love should be reserved for God.  We shouldn't love what is around us, to the point that it damages our relationship with God and our loved ones.  We shouldn't let what the world shows us influence us towards sin, rather we should be dead to that sin, living a holy life accountable before God alone.

This was actually the first time I went in CGA's shared forums. Gotta tell you guys/girls: Kidan and others are bravely defending or spreading the Gospel there!

Some people are there just show up to throw things at our faith for the heck of it, and from I perceive, they are not really looking for an answer or willing to accept certain truths in their lives: they are there just to vent their own frustration (of course there are others who are seeking Him, trying to know more about our Lord). So... for those of you who are young in your faith, maybe it would be a good idea to stay away from the religious forums. I left glad to see Kidan and other ToJ-CS members actively engaging the discussions, but I felt kinda sick after all the things I read.

I'll add that counterstrike can be a great tool for reaching youth.

My last church we used to have LAN parties and teens would bring their friends (Many who would never otherwise come to church) and we'd get a chance to spend time with them, get to know them etc... kinda let them see that Christians aren't cultish freaks, but that we really do care about them.

So there is a bright side to playing CS, but like anything else if it leads us away from God or hurts our testimony then we need to re-examine it.

Good luck witnessing to your co-workers.
