Just one more reason to loathe Yahoo

As if there weren't enough reasons to despise Yahoo, here's one more:

While [China's] communist government encourages Internet use for education and business, it also blocks material it deems subversive or pornographic. Online dissidents who post items critical of the government, or those expressing opinions in chatrooms, are regularly arrested and charged under vaguely worded state security laws.

Earlier this month, a French media watchdog group said e-mail account information provided by Internet powerhouse Yahoo Inc. helped lead to the conviction and 10-year prison sentence of a Chinese journalist who had written about media restrictions in an e-mail.

Have you seen Yahoo's new ads. New? I mean mocked. "Ad's by Yahoo!".... looks exactly like googles ad system. They should have just used "Ad's by Yahoooooo"

I heard about yahoo's censorship last month. And u can't blame yahoo, they follow the laws of the country they do business with.

In Yahoo's case, it was probably either give up the information or get pwned by the Chinese.

Basically, if you don't agree with the laws of a country, don't do business within that country, because you'll be indirectly supporting that government.

It's a complicated situation.
