Kurzicks or Luxons?

that's a pretty good deal!

anyhow, to get this thread back on topic, I finally voted.
I went kurzicks, because, well, after seeing both of the visual theme, the Kurzicks had the more enticing one for moi.

I noticed that the Kurzicks are very Gothic. I don't think maybe that would be a good idea, although the Luxons have more, uh... scantily clad... people.
 
I chatted briefly with someone from God's Chosen last night. He said that they unanimously voted Luxon. He was pretty vague on why though.
 
I voted Luxon. My reasoning:

I've just finished reading Judges. (read through the Bible in a year)

The Israelites turned from God to worship the Ashtoreths and Groves (and also the Baals). The Ashtoreths were nature gods, and the Groves were just like you'd think-- tree worship.

The Kurzicks, though religious, worship trees and carved images. I'd rather be in a "society" where religion is not important, and worship the one True God, than to be surrounded by reminders of the sins of our religious heritage.

Just a different spin on things-- better to have no reminders of our faith than wrong ones.
 
Factions is just a game...
I think some of you are reading way too much into this. Most of you seem to be forgetting that the game is not a game with our God in it's lore but with many false gods; you all are overlooking this in your reasoning.

Personally I don't really care what the game characters worship. I probably won't choose a side, most likely I'll jump around between the two.

True as well. However, remember that what goes into our minds has to go somewhere, and I for one would hate to see a member of our guild that, say, used to be a Wiccan be reminded of their own personal demons as a result of this choice.

I understand where you are coming from. But someone would have to be quite naive(I'm not calling you naive, just anyone in general) to attribute a video game to truth in any case. I do get the idea of free association, certain things will remind people of painful or unwanted experiences or times in their life. But I also think that those times are to be held as examples and if we react to things the same way we did when we initially experienced them than we never really changed now did we? I mean like I said before, if you are going to factor the way a game character behaves you should factor in everything related, IE the fact that there is idol worship in this game, the fact that one of the necromancer skills uses a pentogram, the fact that your characters can rise from the dead, etc. All of these things in theory should be telling us to completely stay away from the game as a whole. I mean the roles we take on in this game scream blasphemy, witchcraft, SIN. But most of don't really take these things into account, we are just picking and choosing whats convenient to us at the time. But as for me, I choose not to consider any of it in relation to my faith because I know that it is nothing more than a video game, trillions of 1's and 0's written on a disc of metal.
