@Kyle-Kristeen

If you look around, you will find other ones. HealingGroupsSuck (HGS) I think got broken in 3.2.2, but you might want to look at that just incase I heard wrong.

let's try this out Kristeen. I didn't do such a swell job taking the healing helm last night, but we did get the boss down. This might help us assign. It would also help to know some strats on how to assign who to which tank. Something to think about.

I do agree this is a great idea. The RL, naturally, is often focused on the "offensive" side of fights and so having a healing lead do assignments is a natural efficiency booster. Also, clearly, it cuts way down on overhealing, and "whack a mole" style healing in general, if every healer knows what their specific job is.

IMO, refining our healing assignments process in the past (e.g. classic and raiding) sometimes been the difference that took Redeemed off of progress plateaus and onto bigger and badder thigns.

Perhaps even the crude "/join redheals" channel approach from before would be a help as well. Unless we're already doing that and I'm just oblivious, which is entirely possible!

It really helps when doing progression content to do a good job of assigning heals. If you find the tank isn't taking as much damage as you thought and raid dps is dieing, you pull a tank healer off exclusive tank duty and give them split duty. As the content becomes trully farmed (that is you can chit chat while doing it while eating pizza, changing a diaper and marking your child's homework) the need to designate healers is greatly reduced.

I agree! I have been working on healing assignments for the past week or so (Reading up on class abilities, spells, etc.), and I have been writing down who I think would be best for each boss fight. Some boss fights require the same setup, but with the variety of boss strats that Blizz has been giving us, it leaves room to mix things up a bit. I still like to leave shamans and priests on raids(Chain heal and Circle of Healing/Prayer), and pallies and druids on tanks(HOT's and Beacon)... Of course with the shamans 10% reduce dmg talents, I do drop a crit heal on the tank when I can. I usually wait an attempt to start assigning just to see if the healers can get the feel of it on their own, then after that I start assigning who is on what.

Pally healers - Best single target healer in the game. Put them on tanks with lots of mellee around the tank.

Shaman healers - Best AoE heal in the game. Strong on healing range groups, secondary on tank with aoe healing healing mellee

Druid healers - Best HOT'ers in the game. Strong on raid healing especially when there is raid wide aoe damage.

Priest healers: Have all the tools in the bag, Holy is great for OT heals, raid heals, and small group heals. Disc is great single target healing, almost on par with pallie, like 98%.

I see, usually when I assign a druid heals to a tank is when we are fighting a boss that has a stun ability. In that case a druid beats most of us because their HOT's will still be healing the tank.
