Leveling

Hey I was wondering if anyone knows of any good leveling guides (Free or paid, I prefer ingame) or know of any faster ways to level. I am currently trying to get to level 55 as fast as possible.
Thanks,

Josh

i always found it clunky and kind of nasty to use...

then again, QH is a resource hog, particularly at start up

Questhelper + Cartographer (these are both addons) and you will fly through.

Cartographer is cool because it show an arrow on the screen to your next waypoint or quest objective.

Yeah, neither is perfect but both are pretty amazing when faced with the "wander around looking for the thingee with the sparklies" alternative. Carbonite does take over more stuff then just "quest helping" and it's debatable whether or not those extra things are really a plus or not. On balance, for me, though, QH started sending me on wild goose chases so Carbonite worked better. Functionally, both QH and Carbonite do the whole quest planning / arrow pointing / kill this-mob-for-this-quest info thing that is the big helping point.

On the flip side, since I am totally in last place on the race from 70 to 80, for fast leveling maybe you should do the OPPOSITE of what I do...

That much is true. I'm going to ding 80 having only done a single instance run (Nexus) and only doing 4.5 Northrend zones (Tundra, Fjord, Blight, Hills, and half of Zul'Drak) ... gogo rested xp.

I have spent quite awhile destroying entire herds of skinnable creatures, using my newfound delight with having two AOEs going simultaneously.

[sorry Josh, just a few posts in and this thread already has nothing to do with your very reasonable original topic ... you'll find that that's how it goes around here....]

Great guides and he even has an ingame mod now that coincides with his web based guides. The advantage of James guides is he does some legwork for you to optimize your questing. Where QuestHelper will point where you go to complete a quest, it doesn't let you know that in the quest hub on the other side of the zone there is another quest giver that has you killing the same exact mobs for the quest you just got. So you end up retracing your steps a bit more using plain quest helper type mods compared to James guides. He also has things like get a bronze tube from an engineer before starting to quest in the zone or save the seal blubber from the baby seals you are ferociously clubbing to death as you will need it for a later quest. Clubbing seals... good times...

My time is very valuable to me as I have a full time job and full time family so maximizing my limited time ingame was great with James guides.

I've used Lightheaded and Tomtom from just about day 1.

They work together, Lightheaded shows the wowhead forums in game so you can scroll through user comments about the best way to do a quest and they also have coordinates that point you to your destination in those notes. And tomtom is the coordinate mod that allows you to click the coords in the lightheaded menu (which attaches directly to your quest log). This is a very resource light addon and I've used it the whole time I've played WoW. I highly suggest it.
