Linux anyone?

I have a dual boot, because I want to learn to use linux sometime. But alas, it's sort of collecting dust right now after all that pain to set it up.

I used to run a customized version of FreeBSD on one of those ancient suitcase-sized laptops, but unfortunately shrinking battery life and increased recharge time meant I had to retire it. By the end, the battery life was about 10 minutes long, and took three days to recharge. Not Linux exactly, but it's a flavor of UNIX nonetheless.

I've got the last official release of AT&T UNIX kicking around in my floppy library somewhere. Might be interesting to install on a frankenstein machine for a laugh sometime.

Haha!! 10-minute battery life with a three-day recharge. I wonder what the original specs on that must've been! :D

I don't know, but when I looked online for a battery replacement, the only one I found was in Juarez, Mexico, for $153 dollars. I passed on that bargain.

It's okay. It had a 1 GB hard drive, which tells you about how old it was.

LOL, I live about 20 mins away from good ol Juarez. I'm surpirsed that anybody who lives over there would care enough to charge $153 for an old battery! The only technology they have down there are their big huge stereos!
