'Twould be cool to play with ToJ members more often, but when you're the first one to jump into a game, where do you go? Help us answer this quandry by posting the names, IP addresses, and quick descriptions (e.g. a 32-slot Onslaught server with custom maps) of your favorite servers.
 
I think I did this once a while back, but some of those are sure to be down or moved by now so I'll do it again. These days, I play mostly with clan mates on the Land Mass, or on The Fractionary or The Cemetery, or on the =A!M= clan's TAM server. Here's my server browser favorites list, with explanations. By the way, if I'm playing UT, there's a very high probability that I'm in LOB's teamspeak. The TS address is "clanlob.com" and the password is "lob". So come talk to me! I don't bite. Plus, my teammates and I might need an extra man for a scrimmage, and as Tek or Shagz can tell you, scrimming with us is more fun than playing public servers, even if you play terribly (not that Tek or Shagz did, mind you ;) ).

First, the TOJ/LOB private 1v1/2v2 server:
  • The Land Mass - ut2004://69.90.114.166:7777, magic word is (look upside down): əpos!də

Competitive 4v4 No Weaponstay TDM:
  • The Cemetery: ut2004://63.84.200.95:7777 (also voteable for WS on)

Competitive 1v1 DM Duel servers:
  • ::LOB:: Public 1v1: ut2004://64.237.35.117:7777
  • YO!» Archon's Playground: ut2004://67.19.1.163:7777
  • =A!M= Liandri.com public 1v1: ut2004://69.31.96.187:7777 (no enhanced netcode :( )
Note: 1v1 DM is the quickest way to improve all areas of your play, but you have to be prepared to lose. If you want to start playing 1v1s but you don't know where to start, let me know and I'll be glad to teach you. :)

Semi-competitive 5v5 Weaponstay on TDM:
  • ::LOB:: The Fractionary: ut2004://64.237.35.119:7777 (no mapvote, quick cycle)
  • ]+[ Team Resurrection - The Purgatory: ut2004://69.31.96.185:7777 (mapvote enabled)

Non-competitive FFA DM (when I want to "pwn noobs" as they say):
  • Bees Demo Server: ut2004://69.41.163.69:12500 (All DM-Rankin, all the time, but I get a good ping)
  • East Coast Fragging #1: ut2004://64.34.164.142:7777
  • Ratman's UT2004: ut2004://216.193.197.38:7777
Warning: playing on FFA DM servers will not improve your play, and regular use will actually degrade your skill

Team Arena Master servers:
  • ::LOB:: The Remainder: ut2004://64.37.227.176:7777 (5v5, may be passworded sometimes)
  • .:vVv:. Dallas TAM: ut2004://69.93.141.59:7777 (5v5)
  • =A!M= Clan TAM server: ut2004://69.31.96.186:7777 (5v5. The one that started it all and still one of the most popular. I played there a lot back when TAM first came out)
  • =A!M= Clan Insane Asylum: ut2004://69.31.96.222:7777 (4v4, which is how TAM is played competitively. This server doesn't have competitive-level teamwork, of course)
  • 3SPN.com TAM beta server: ut2004://69.12.89.157:7777 (4v4, where the public can test the latest beta of TAM and give feedback. The version currently running on the server play a LOT differently than normal TAM. Good for a change of pace!)
  • Blackcloud's House: ut2004://72.29.117.210:7777 (9v9, a pretty noob-ish server, but I get a really good ping there. The TAM equivalent of FFA DM, play at risk to your own skill)
  • HTM~ TAM it all to hell: ut2004://72.29.117.209:7777 (8v8, another noob-ish server, but less so than Blackclouds; sometimes the 2k3 style mutator is on, which changes the wall-dodging physics slightly. A nice change of pace but not for regular consumption)

I pretty much hit any server that has a ToJ member on it. Failing that, I hit the Fractionary. I figure the only way I'm going to get better is by playing the best, so that's where I hang.

I'll start checking out some of the other servers that Kraniac listed, there are some new ones in there for me.
