Map and Ranks - UPDATED WITH DEFINITIONS

Within the week, the following Ranks and Map will be instituted.

Our "tribe town" is TOJ Starter Town located just outside off TOJ Station to the right. Follow the pathway. Our Tribe Only area is the TOJ Only area. No real path, just wonder off into the unknown and explore!

To know what area you are in, type /area.
To set your return point, use /t

MOST ranks have these other useful commands. Not all commands are available to all players:

/chat
/gps [PLAYER] -- Display block coordinates of named player or yourself
/help [COMMAND] -- List commands or get help for one command (/help <command>)
/local MESSAGE -- Send a chat message to nearby players
/localtoggle -- toggle localchat mode
/lock -- Prepare to create your locked chest
/me -- emote
/money
/mute PLAYER -- Block the named player from normal chat
/ok -- Response to the /visit command to allow a teleport
/reply MESSAGE -- Send message to the player who last sent you one
/rules -- Display the server rules
/spawn -- go to global spawn
/setgroup PLAYER GROUP -- Set the group ID of the named player
/teleport PLAYER1 PLAYER2 -- Teleport the first player to the second
/tell PLAYER MESSAGE... -- Send a message to the named player
/unlock -- Unlock your locked chest (if you have one) for others to access
/who -- Display online players names

RE: RANKS

When you log on, you may be confused about your rank. You may wonder why you aren't a higher rank, or how to get to a higher rank. Basically, it's all about time and trust. Time you spend with with the people in TOJ, how you act, what you do, all goes toward your chance of being ranked up. There is no set schedule on when you will be ranked.

First, lets cover how you get demoted:
o If you bug anyone to rank you, that will just delay your being ranked and could end you up demoted or in Jail (due to harassment).
o If you abuse your powers. FYI, the /tele is like your firetruck or police car. If the person you tp to doesn't mind, then tp away. There is no violation to using it, it's just that it is more polite to ask to /visit first. Some people don't like you popping in all the time.
o If you break any of the server rules, you will instantly be demoted and it will take much longer for you to be promoted after that.

Player Ranks:

Jail (Red) [/setgroup 2]
The color of blood. This player has been set back to snow ball throwing and is being punished for a set number of days or for 40 days and 40 nights for actions unbecoming a TOJ Member. This is not a good place to be - so don't do anything that gets you put here. ONLY ADMINS SHOULD PROMOTE THESE PEOPLE. Or someone directed to do so by an admin. No matter how much they whine or what they offer you, do not promote them. If you do, you will end up in Jail yourself. There is no physical jail, the players can still come in and roam around, they just can not do anything.

Freebuild (Pink) [/setgroup 12]]
These are players who have just entered the game. Once whitelisted, they can be advanced to a White. They can build in the freebuild area only and have no tribe affiliation. They have no privileges.

TOJ Player (White) ) [/setgroup 22]
The lack of color signifies purity and innocence. Player has no knowledge of TOJ other than via the website. TOJ Whites will only be allowed to build in the Freebuild area or TOJ Starter Town Area. Because they are TOJ, we should encourage them to build in the TOJ Starter Town. They have the special command of /visit. Building here will give us time to get to know them and them to get to know us. It will give them a nice place to build and live while they collect materials, and scope out the land. If they want to claim some land for future occupation, feel free to help them by placing signs in a TOJ Only area, as they will not be able to.

TOJ FADmin (Yellow) ) [/setgroup 32]
The color of the rising sun. The Player has moved from white to yellow because they now have some knowledge of other players and how TOJ works. They are able to build in the Freebuilder, TOJ Starter Town or TOJ Only areas. This rank will allow them to have access to other people’s buildings. They gain the commands of /tele and /setgroup (see section at bottom of post) to set players to any rank under them. FADmin's have an important job of watching the new players. Watch out for griefing, stealing, etc. But also watch for some good things. Let a Guard or Admin know of both bad and good that they do. If you KNOW someone has griefed (you seen them or there was another direct eyewitness), the FADmin can set the rank of that player back to Freebuilder. Then, notify a Guard or Admin as soon as possible. Use the F2 command to take screenshots of the grief or the text chat that occurred. Explain to the player that you have temporarily demoted them until the matter can be reviewed by higher ranking members.

TOJ Member (Green) ) [/setgroup 42]
The color of growing things that all can see. Power begins to develop. The Player has knowledge of other Players or is given a reference by an existing TOJ member (Minecraft or other Chapter) or has been a member in good standing with TOJ for several weeks. They are able to build in the Freebuilder, TOJ Starter Town, TOJ Only, or unmarked. They have the commands of /tele.

TOJ Trusted (Blue) ) [/setgroup 52]
The color of the sky which growing things reach for. The Player is already a TOJ member of good standing in another Chapter or has been with TOJ Minecraft for long enough that we feel we can trust them completely. They are able to build in the Freebuild, TOJ Starter Town, TOJ Only, unmarked, and Trusted areas. They have the commands of /tele and /setgroup ((see section at bottom of post)) to set anyone to any rank under them. This is mainly to demote a player in case of an issue or move a player to the white listing. You should not be promoting players beyond the White level.

TOJ Guard (Brown) ) [/setgroup 62]
The color of the ground where growing things are rooted firmly. The Player has been a member in good standing with TOJ for several months and the leadership has chosen to make them a guard. They are able to build in all areas accept privately owned. They have the commands of /tele, /setgroup ((see section at bottom of post)), /mute, and /gworld. Can /setgroup of any player to any rank under them. They are to help maintain peace in the community and provide assistance when necessary. Remember to take a screenshot of any violations when possible. When needed may also assist in other server situations that demand immediate action, including using the /mute command on non TOJ players.

TOJ Admin (Purple/Black) ) [/setgroup 72]
Black is the combination of all color. The Player has been promoted to administer all areas of the server in regards to TOJ. When needed will also assist in other server situations that demand immediate action. They are able to build in all areas, have the most commands available. They can /setgroup any Player to any color rank.

IF YOU HAVE /SETGROUP COMMAND PLEASE READ THIS: Watch for the players that are pink in color, they may need your assistance. You can only set the rank of players that are lower than your rank and you can not set players to your rank. When a player comes on, they will be pink. Before making promotions, ask the guest if they are joining via the TOJ website or the WWJD website. If it is any site other than TOJ, then you have no further action to take.

For TOJ. All players must first ask permission to be whitelisted by making a forum post. You will know they read the rules if they tell you the current date. It tells them in the rules to find a Guard and tell them the date. Once they have done this, they may be moved to be a TOJ White. Guards may later choose to set them to a higher rank when deemed appropriate. Players who you recognize from before don't necessarily have to make the posting. If they are willing to, great, if not, no big deal. You can just post for them that they were added.

You will type: /setgroup playersname ## (where ## use the number indicated above.

Cata has put together a tojkit that will be available for a limited time. To avoid jealousy from other players, it is best if you meet the player and give them the gift. Just tell them you have a have something for them. You give yourself the kit by typing: /kit tojkit, then give them everything that is in the kit (iron tools: shovel, pickaxe, axe, sword; stack of wood; and 5 apples). It wouldn't be a bad idea to show them to the TOJ Station and the TOJ Starter Town. FYI: There is record every time you give yourself a kit - Please don't abuse it.

RE: Areas

The following areas are avaiable: Freebuild, TOJ Starter Town, TOJ Only, unmarked, and Trusted areas. You can find out what area you are in by typing /area.

Freebuild: Is available to ALL players on the server. These Areas WILL BE griefed. It is inevitable. So build at your own risk here.

TOJ Starter Town: This is the TOJ affiliated version of Freebuild. These areas MAY be griefed. Consider this at the level of security of our old servers. This area can be accessed by exiting out the back of TOJ Station.

TOJ Only: Only players with TOJ tag in front of their name can build in this area. This is where the bulk of the building will take place. These area are fairly secure, but griefing is possible. This area can be accessed by exiting out the front of TOJ Station and turning right.

Unmarked: These areas are available to players both in TOJ and outside of TOJ, but are fairly secure.

Trusted areas: These areas are available to trusted players both in TOJ and outside of TOJ. It is unlikely this area will be griefed, but not impossible. This area can be accessed by exiting out the front of TOJ Station and turning left.

We'd like most of TOJ to build in the TOJ only area to maintain community. Those building in TOJ Starter Town are directly next to TOJ Only. There are also Trusted areas that meet up with TOJ Only areas. Access increases as rank increases.

Just to clarify - ALL players on the server actually have access to the areas. However, they do not have rights to modify the area.

Eventually, these area types will be available in ALL the worlds, but this process takes time.

So there you have the FYI on Areas.
 
I'm not sure what it's like for others, but the black text color for the admin rank is very difficult to read. I was squinting last night trying to see who was talking (and I have very good eyes). :)
 
Well, it is either Catakou or me. :D If that helps. But it will be changed as soon as we can. The server has to be reset to do it and that would interrupt play. But thanks!
