Match v. (-TMS^)

New match, need info. This weekend is good for me. Also I think we do pretty good on Ironic and Rankin. We'll see.

No go for me...I'm packing all this week, weekend is the move and then after that I'm out of comission for a while until I get a wireless card (the new place's landlords have a wireless network set up) or I get my own connection.

Sorry. :P

I'd have to check, but it's probable that I'll be able to make it. Shagz! Wireless! Feel the pain! Actually, it's not all that bad if you get a decent card. If you're walking down the street, and you see some guy promoting Linksys wireless products, do me a favor and punch him in the face (With the love of the Lord of course). Linksys is terrible for gaming, get Netgear, I just got the WG311T from newegg.com and I'm loving it, there's hardly any lag at all, nothing like that crappy Linksys card I was using before.

I'm working this weekend so I might not be able to play. Times that would work for me though would be Friday evening(or afternoon), Saturday(after 8pm), and Sunday(after 8pm). Ironically, Rankin sounds good to me.

re: Netgear card....check. We'll see how it goes, I might toss it and just see if I can run a network cable straight from the router to my box, depends on the landlord.

re: punching linksys sales guys with the love of the lord...that reminds me of that scene in Fight Club where members are trying to start fights and that guy keeps spraying water on a passing reverend until the reverend loses his cool. :)

LOOL, I just saw that the other night. My favorite part from the film is where they are sitting around the table at his work and the guy is giving the presentation and is like "like i was telling my man here..." and Ed Norton kinda like 'shows his teeth' and they are all bloody, haha.

Just so you all know, I chose dates for this Saturday and Sunday. I'll be gone starting Monday the 23rd for various hectic events, and will not be available again until Monday the 30th. Since Shagz is moving, Killerah will be in charge of team management and practice-holdings for that span of time.

BTW, as you might have seen, CS's "wake up call" e-mail went out a few days ago, and I understand he has a couple more people interested in joining the TDM team (Teamwarfare.com team size limits not-withstanding). He's directed them to the forums, so hopefully we'll see some posts here soon.

Yeah, I've talked to CS about that. I hope they make themselves known soon...

Also I read my calendar wrong, so if they pick Sunday for the match, I won't be able to make it. I'll be leaving home on Sunday morning (I thought it was Monday morning).

Okay, mark your calendars:

Maps: DM-DE-Ironic, DM-Campgrounds2k4-G1E, DM-Rankin
Match Date: Saturday, May 21 9:00 PM EST

Yeah, well with you guys both gone, it'll be me and Michael+ and whoever else I can round up on xfire. w00t! I should be able to get a few of my UT owning part-time toj friends to join for a practice. Anyway, I feel honored to be entrusted with such a duty as team management for that week you'll be gone. I will keep this place in ship shape... or something...

Players recruited after a challenge was accepted are not eligible to play that challenge. Thus, the eligible roster is me, Killerah, Michael, and @nd$. I'll try to be there, but we'll see how it goes.

Yeah, I meant practice on sunday. Anyway, I'll probably be able to make it, very very likely. Only thing is I'm either having a LAN on saturday or friday. Even so, I'll stop owning everybody for a half hour and play the match :).

Yeah, we won.

I'm back, by the way, but graduation is this weekend and I'm going to be very busy talking to people and perhaps avoiding a few awkward moments as both sides of my divorce-riddled family visit. Also there's going to be a Halo 2 party at my house on Sunday evening, but I'm not the one throwing it. It's going to be interesting.

Has OldSchool or Amy-Joe been at any practices yet? They need to be notified by email when your going to practice. They want to join the dm team. I think that Oldschool has visited the forums, I don't know about Amy-Joe. They could be a backup if someone needs a teammate. It's better to just plain ol loose than a forfeit.CS
ps. get them involved in the team.,email them, give them encouragement.

Before I left, I emailed each one of the interested members you sent me the following message:

Hi, this is [toj.cc]lands/ide. I'm the leader of the deathmatch team. I'm very glad you're interested in playing for us. There are some things you'll need to do before you can play matches with us, though.

First, stop by our forums at http://www.cgalliance.org/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=47 and introduce yourself to the team. The forums are the lifeblood of our little community so please check them for new threads every day. This is where I will be posting our matches and whenever a match is announced, I need you to reply saying which days of the week you can make it and what maps you'd like to play.

Secondly, you need to create an account at www.teamwarfare.com so we can put you on the ladder with us. Be sure to register with a username the same as the name you use in-game. For instance, if you play UT as "[ toj.cc]shazbot", then "shazbot" should be your username.

Thirdly, we have practices on our private 2v2 server every Sunday at 5:00 PM EST. The IP address is 69.28.220.97, and the password is "REMOVEDFORPOSTING" without quotes. I'm not sure how much experience you have with the competitive community, but playing competitive Team Deathmatch is a completely different ballgame from your standard free-for-all 16-person Deathmatch. For one, it's played with Weapon Stay off. The goal is mainly about controlling the items and winning through attrition. Defense is just as important as offense. Anyway, I will expect you most every practice. Real life is more important, so don't worry if you miss an occasional one, but this is a time commitment, so if you're very busy you may want to reconsider. Even if you aren't on the team, you're always welcome at any of our practices.

Fourthly, you'll need to get Teamspeak, a voice communication program, at www.goteamspeak.com , as well as a microphone headset to use it best. We use it extensively for tactical communications. You'll also need Xfire, at www.xfire.com, as it makes it much easier to contact the team.

Killerah is in charge of May 22nd's practice because I will be out of town. I'm forwarding this message to him too, so he knows who you are. If you have any further questions, contact him at REMOVED@FORPOSTING.com.

Thanks!

By the way, if anyone reads this and wants the password to our 2v2 server, send me a forum PM and I'll hook you up. We don't mind other people using our server at all, as long as they don't mind being kicked out in the event we need to practice on it.
