Chapter 10:45
NIV: For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.

KJV: For even the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.

NLT: For even I, the Son of Man, came here not to be served but to serve others, and to give my life as a ransom for many.

Msg: That is what the Son of Man has done: He came to serve, not to be served—and then to give away his life in exchange for many who are held hostage.

ESV: For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.

Chapter 13:14-15
NIV: Now that I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash one another's feet. I have set you an example that you should do as I have done for you.

KJV: If I then, your Lord and Master, have washed your feet; ye also ought to wash one another's feet. For I have given you an example, that ye should do as I have done to you.

NLT: And since I, the Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you ought to wash each other's feet. I have given you an example to follow. Do as I have done to you.

Msg: So if I, the Master and Teacher, washed your feet, you must now wash each other's feet. I've laid down a pattern for you. What I've done, you do. I'm only pointing out the obvious.

ESV: If I then, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another's feet. For I have given you an example, that you also should do just as I have done to you.
