(I realized I wrote alot, so there is a TLDR for those of you who don't feel like reading it all )
Hey guys, my name's Kyle and I'm a Christian who thoroughly enjoys playing video games. As I've matured in my faith, I've began to question the way I live my life more and more and have began wondering how my video gaming effects and relates to my personal walk with Christ.. and the worlds.
I've recently began to realize that God can in fact be glorified through video games. Although video games aren't exactly a great means for communication at all times, the way I act and the things I say in the games actually has the potential to show God's love to others and glorify our Lord.
For instance... ganking in WoW is something I did all the time when I first began playing (4 or 5 years ago). My excuse was that "it's a video game.. not real life- I can kill people as much as I want because if they don't like it, they can just quit the game"... as I have matured, I've realized that ganking while in game is no different than bullying someone in real life- the feelings felt are still the same as the one getting ganked and the one doing it.
So, just a week ago, I made a vow with my accountability group to pray before I game, every time; praying that I can glorify God through it and that I can somehow show his love through the time I spend(needless to say, I got weird looks from my friends because they just can't relate). Just yesterday night I was able to get into a conversation with a team mate during a L4D2 game that kind of befriended me and I told him that one of the reasons I don't smoke was because I have Jesus. Although that isn't anything huge, I think it's so important to be unashamed of Christ, and I've really been working on becoming open about my faith... I love God
Anyways... I'm 18 years old, planning on going to Indiana Wesleyan University for Christian Ministry next fall and I have been looking for Christian gamers that are able to challenge and encourage me for quite a while.
I would REALLY love to talk about ways to outreach in games like WoW (which I reactivated for the free 7 days last week) or even in L4D2; to try to figure out how we can truly glorify God through our time spent in video games.
Oh.. also, I love Christian rap and have only been listening to it for about half a year. If you haven't heard any before, please give it a try! I have always disliked rap, but after I started listening to Christian rap, I've really began to appreciate and enjoy rap (aside from secular rap). Lecrae is my favorite artist.. check him out!

TLDR: My name is Kyle, play L4D2, TF2, and WoW atm, and I'm happy to have found a Christian gaming community and hope I can get connected here!
Thanks!! Feel free to send me an e-mail or whatever.. would love to get to know you guys! (duckstaped[at]aol[dot]com)
