Newbie Guild Questions, Worlds and Influence

Hey all, was an old Spirit of Elisha member a long way back...been waiting for GW2 a while! Basically quit GW and went Xbox for a long time, but now I'm back in. (...have 3 kids and full time job, so only see me later at night EST for a few hours)

I have a couple of questions:

1) Worlds...I noticed that almost everyone was in Sanctum of Rall. I was not, and it says it cost gems or cost $$$ to switch, but I just looked and it was free. So never-mind... :)

2) Influence...reading about guilds, I can earn "influence" for it? Are we supposed to do this? Given the doco is limited, do I just "ADD" the Research for all four Politics, Economy, Art of war and Architecture...? Is it just based on how much I play or how much I play in a party of Guild members or something else?

3) If I have more than one character, do I need them all "invited" or are they all invited via my Name.####, even if I make a new one?

4) Anything else I should know? (guild related) Is there a things to know? I didn't see it...

Cheers!

1. Yes, our guild is located in Sanctum of Rall along with several other Christian Guilds. It does cost gems to transfer but I believe Arenanet is leaving it as a free option for a week or so to allow folks to get settled in. If you can switch then please come and join us.

2. As you play you earn influence for the guild you're representing. If you're already in the guild then just make sure you're "representing". You have to do this with each character. You have the ability to join multiple guilds if you like, but can only represent one at a time. Don't worry about queueing up stuff for the guild. The officers will take care of building up our stuff. All you need to do is play and you'll earn us plenty of influence.

3. Guild membership is account based, just like GW1. Just post in the invite thread and we'll get you in. You do need to represent with each character once.

4. Lots....but that's too much to cover here. Just play and have fun and ask questions as you go.
