Next Ubuntu Release

Hey guys,

My dad's thrown the old computer in the basement, and I've decided to turn it into a Linux machine in my free time. When's the new version coming out? I think I will wait until its release.

no need to wait since ubuntu can upgrade with each release..install the latest and try out ubuntu(i prefer centos myself or pclinuxos for desktops).
 
You might also try gOS, my roommates are both former Mac OS diehards that have switched to it now that Apple has made so many bad decisions. It's based on Ubuntu and runs on a modified Enlightenment desktop environment designed by one of the designers of Mac OS X.

I like it, but I have customized my own Ubuntu install nearly beyond recognition and I prefer to keep what I am used to.

Oh yeah, the next version comes out in April, by the way.
 
gOS seems a little bloated IMO. I personally use fedora all over. I used to use centos on my server but the repository missed a few key packages I wanted and fedora had. My server uses about 90MB of ram lol, seksi.
