What can I do to get orange crayon markings off of my monitor?

(And, no, I don't live in a cave -- it looks dark because I had to reduce to shutter time to capture the image)

(And I also don't have my Mac yet...I use FlyakiteOSX to make Windows look like OS X)

Next time you want to h4x Counterstrike by drawing yourself a crosshair for the sniper rifle on the monitor so you can no-scope easier, use dry-erase marker instead of orange crayon. Dry-erase wipes off pretty easy. Crayon, not so much. :D

D'oh, forgot to mention...it's an LCD/FlatPanel/TFT/WhateverYouCallIt monitor. =)

Kraniac, that is a sweet CS hack, dude. :P

Yikes! If your screen can handle the pressure of a crayon point, then it can probably handle a nice soft rag to get that stuff off. Its just wax, so whatever works best at removing wax (so long as it doesnt melt your screen). Good luck!

THIS IS AWSOME !!! FlyakiteOSX

I would recommend a clean cloth barely dampened with a mixture of vinegar and water, or with a mixture of water and tiny amount of soap. I am not sure about flat panel monitors, but some window cleaners can eat plastic. I know that Vinegar and water + newspaper works well on removing crayon from windows and plastic desks and wooden rocking chairs and television screens (not flat panel). You may want to contact the manufacturer though and see if there are any recommenations

(sorry, the mom in me just came out :) )

I know i clean my LCD monitors/lappys with a vinegar and water mixture, and a flannel/100% cloth rag. So it doesnt scratch the anti glare coatings.
