EDIT: Doh! I just reread the rules, and it has to be portrait, not landscape. I guess I'll have to make something different...
 
I think you could still make that portrait, just cup the hands more. I was working on one just like that! Great minds! :D

EDIT: I got my hands to fit in a 7 X 7 inch square. I'll try to post a scan soon.

Here's the one I have been working on. I would like to darken in the lines, but I am not sure how to do that. I just sketched it and scanned it.

Thrawn - I still think it is crazy that we were both working on the same concept!
