Hey friends, a small few of you might remember me. I played Sydney Ablaze, Indy Ablaze, Gwendolyn Ablaze. I was an officer back in the early days of SoE.

Anyways... I reloaded GW and am thinking of getting back into it and refreshing my skillz before the xpac comes out.

I was curious if you guys are still fairly active? I don't have Nightfall or Factions, is there still ppl playing in the original world? Anything new there for a lvl20? Last I played Sorrows Furnace had just come out.

Any insight to what's been happening during the last 1.5 years I have been gone would be appreciated.

I still play the Original GW. But Factions and Nightfall seem to me to be played more in the Guild.

I went to a conference the other day that suggested stuff like GW as a way to combat work related stress. Thus I think you should definately get back into it. At the very least for the medicinal purposes.

I REMEMBER YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ahem. Sorry.

Well, Pastori's no longer the Guild Leader, or else he still is but Krug (DZwart) is acting as in-game leader in his place... we're a 4- or 5-guild alliance... As far as I know, we're pretty active. We're working on getting a more hardcore "official" Team SoE for PvP... anyway yeah a boatload of things has happened in-game, too. Skill changes and everything. Sorrows furnace, eh? Sooo... yeah. It's been a while... good to have you back, though :D Anyway stuff like PvP has really changed with the Hall of Heroes, since the Tomb of Primeval Kings is now the gateway to the new Underworld (don't fret though, the old one is still here) and now they have "Heroes' Ascent" where you make a team and go for it. Umm... I'm not good at these kinds of summaries, sorry. You'll probably find whatever build you have on your characters to be horrendously outdated though, just ask here or in-game and we'll get you refamiliarized with everything :P

i remember you. lots of new things. i still play in Tyria (Proph was my favorite campaign) we are quite active and would love to have you back on.
Joey.

Tyria is very active. I just made a new mesmer and I am suprised the activity there is amazing you can get groups there now is pretty nice. And the Guild is very active we have 2 guilds now. SoE has 100 members although not all are active. Not sure on the Number is SOE. Btw Syd was the guy to convinced me to join SoE. As well as the one who send me the invite :). Would love to have you back Bro! I was so sad to see you go play WoW and leave us :). If you come back let me know and I can help! God Bless!!

DUDE COME TO PAX I KNOW U LIVE IN SEATTLE!!

but yeah we're still extremely active

Wow looks like i'll have to come back and try to level up to get a spot on the pvp team mwahaha!!!

Ewok glad to see ya!!

I started playing again too!

My characters are;

Wedge Charr (lvl 20 ele/mo) (Prophecies)
Kanata Osuka (lvl 20 war/mo) (Factions)
Kojo Negash (lvl 20 der/mo) (Nightfall)

Hey Mike, welcome back!

The addition of hard mode (unlocked for all lvl20's on the acct once any character on your account has beaten the last mission of a campain) has brought back some additional interest in the original campain too. Let us know if you want a re-invite. Post your character name you want listed on the guild roster.

Wow, great to see some folks returning to the game lately. For those of you who are coming back with only Prophesies, that campaign seems to be pretty active and you may be happy continuing to play with just that. But if you have been thinking about picking up one or more of the existing expansions, I'd definitely recommend getting Nightfall. I'd even recommend it over the upcoming Eye of the North. Its a well-designed campaign, faster to level up than Prophesies, but the BIG thing is heroes, which are really helpful for overcoming PUGS, filling out incomplete groups with support characters, and putting all those cool extra rare and green items to use. :) Plus there are tons of great PvP skills in Nightfall, which is the main reason I bought it.

Paul

if ur just getting NF for the heros, GW:EN has heros as well. 10 new ones. so idk about getting NF over GW:EN JUST for the heros. But everything else Paul said was right.

The order i would buy things at this time
Prophecies
Nightfall
Factions
GW:EN (when it comes out of course and then that would go in front of Factions)

I preordered GW:EN and got 10 hours to play Factions and Nightfall.. Wow both were sooo cool. I burnt through the 10 hours in 2 days!!

I have to say I really like the Asian theme of factions. I loved the look of those buildings across the landscapes. But then the heroes in NF...wow how cool! Yeah I dunno know which one I would get first.

Probably I will stick with GW:EN for now since I got some PvE lvl20s ready for a challenge. Then once that quiets down I'm sure I'll pick up the other 2.

Man it is good to be back!!! So many great changes to this game since I was gone.

It is like a whole new game Since you left! I look back and see how much the game has changed and has gotten better.

Aesthetically, I love Factions; great pets, too. My complaint is that leveling is TOO easy. When you can reach level 20 in a weekend, it makes the level cap seem silly. However, the leveling is much better in Nightfall. And heroes? Yay!

I still love, love, love Prophecies!

I don't know if you've noticed or figured it out yet too, but one of the arguably best upgrades to the game is templates. The disk icon on your skills "K" menu will let you save your setup and return to it later. The files are stored to your hard drive, so they won't be there if you play on another machine, but you can share them in game too.

Absolutely. Templates are great. I used to have a hard time remembering which skills and which order I used them. The templates make it so easy to switch from a healing to smiting to protecting monk. I haven't used them with my warrior yet. That is next.
