Onyxia Server guilds?

Hi all.

I have been looking for a Christian Guild to join on my server for a while and haven't found any.

I had started playing a few months ago and joined a guild that is non Christian. They are nice enough, but dealing with all that drama and teen angst is driving me crazy.

Too bad I didn't find a guild first and join a server on that basis.

I think the transfers between servers are $25 still. But after playing in Redeemed (the Christian guild on the Stonemaul server) I think it'd be worth every dollar to transfer. Because you'd be able to enjoy the game much better not dealing with the foul language as much, and also the community. I don't play WoW anymore, but when I did, I found that being in a good guild is half the fun of the game. And the longer and more active you are in that guild the more friendships you will make in game.

Onyxia server, you say?

Unfortunately, we don't have record of any Christian guilds on Onyxia on our list.

A guild can either make or break the game experience in WoW, so, depending on your budget, it might be worth the real life cash to transfer to another server.

Alternatively, you could chuck WoW out a window and go play WAR instead. But that's the Mythic (and Realm v. Realm) fanboy part of me speaking out. Both games can be a load of fun with the right guild.

I have found this to be true in Guild Wars

Also true in Guild Wars

Or you can throw out WoW AND WAR and get Guild Wars! =D

but being somewhat on-topic. Maybe look around for a Christian guild on your server (cause apparently it costs money to change.. that doesn't make sense to me... silly Blizzard..) before you spend money to change to one of ours. If that is you are planning or thinking about changing. I'm not in WoW (obviously) but I would hate for someone to pay money (theoretically) to join my guild.

just a general thought...i mean, would it not make sense to consolidate the guilds that are out there into one now that pve->pvp transfers are avail? :)

Yeah, the last time I checked it was $25 for a server transfer.

Right now I am on the edge about whether to keep playing at all.

I really enjoy WOW and have only scratched the surface of the game so far. I may just let the account lapse and take up another game instead.

Really I could be a witness "in game" in my current guild.

In my case, I don't think I will EVER have the time to raid, so I am just not sure if it is worth playing at all.

Hi all.

There are christian guilds on other servers, but you know that now. You don't have to transfer a toon, you can always start a new one. Death knights start at lvl 55, so you don't have to level quite as much.

Doesn't matter what guild you are in, there will always be drama. I have yet to see a church without some drama associated with it.

Yes it is. You can do something about it or do nothing. You can be a guiding light in your current guild or shrink back into the background.

If it is something you really want, is $25 going to stand in your way, or levelling a toon from scratch going to stand in your way?

Right now I am on the edge about whether to keep playing at all.

Thats a good question and you have to make that decision for yourself. You haven't really scratched the surface of the game, so you won't know what you are missing. Once you get into something you really enjoy, it does become harder to set aside when the time comes, whether by choice or not.

There is no other game quite like WoW, every MMO is unique, every RTS is unique, every FPS is unique, every Sports game is unique, yet genre has a common set of similiarities. Spread your wings, find your niche, stick with what you like.

Really I could be a witness "in game" in my current guild.

You are asked to do that in all aspects of your life. :)

In my case, I don't think I will EVER have the time to raid, so I am just not sure if it is worth playing at all.

The game should not be about the raid or what ever end game is. It should be about fellowship with friends, family and christians and other players in the game. In Redeemed, our raids last 3 hours, sometimes 4. And if you can only commit to 2 of those hours, forewarning the raid leader means they have time to find a replacement for you when you have to leave. There are people who can only stay on until 9pm server while some people can't even start playing until 9pm server. Feeling as if you don't have time is probably a result of misinformation - most likely from a hardcore raiding guild whose members are mostly made up of 35 year olds still living in mom and dads basement who have no life outside of WoW.

Most peole will spend 3 to 4 hours a day or two a week just levelling and running 5 man instances. So I don't understand the "I don't have time arguement."

So, My main question is/was/should have been "Are there any Christian guilds on Onyxia?

We are unaware of any. Your best bet might be to simply ask in general chat or city trade chat if there are any christian or family friendly guilds. Don't spam ask but ask when you get on and just before you log off.

You're gonna get flak for asking, and it's very important that you turn the other cheek rather than turning the tables.

As Christians in WoW, I believe one of our major callings is to show unbelievers that Christians aren't all the weirdos they see on TV... and part of that is not fighting with every athiest you meet. :)
