"Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."

Mark 2:17 said:
On hearing this, Jesus said to them, "It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners."

Howdy folks! Lets get the ideas brought forth in this thread going! I want to try and make this an official organized weekly guild event, but that doesn't mean you can only witness once a week! ;)

1 Peter 3:15 said:
But in your hearts set apart Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect,

The purpose of Outreach Night is to prayerfully witness to non believers in Guild Wars by example, that they may see Christ in us, and that Lord would open up opportunities in our conversations to share the Gospel with them. We can only plant the seeds, it is the Lord that makes them grow.

So far, here is what I have in mind for Outreach Night. We form a group or groups of people a little over half in number of the max party size for a given mission. For example, if it is an 8 person limit, we need 5 guildies in the group, if it is a 6 player limit, we need 4. Obviously depending on turn out, this isn't a hard and fast rule.

We will vote on missions to do on Outreach Night here on the forums, and I would love to hear your suggestions on what missions we should focus on. Also, quests aren't out of the question either, there are some really tough quests out there, like Captured Son in Factions, which we could assist in as well. And in Nightfall there will be Masters Quests, which are basically hard quests with bigger rewards.

I have narrowed it down to two nights: Tuesday night 9 EST or Thursday nights after Bible Study. Those are the only two nights where I can be on where there isn't another guild event scheduled already. Please vote and let me know which night you would prefer.

Once again, I am open to suggestions. The format of this is something that I envision changing and evolving as we discover what is effective and what isn't. I've never had any missionary or outreach training, not that it is necessary, for the Lord can use anyone with a willing heart. Having said that, if anyone has had some biblical training in this, your input is greatly appreciated!

I can do it on Thursdays after 10 EST, but Tuesdays won't work. Our PvP event is at 10 EST, and an hour probably wouldn't be enough time.

Ya thursdays work for me, just not this thursday, i have to go to a meeting about going to Australia! :D

Yeah, an hour is kinda iffy.

I vote Thursdays, cause we'll all be pumped up from the Bible Study, so we can go release some of that spiritual energy onto other people. :)

I think Thursdays at 10 would be good to. I can't be there every week though I have Worship practice at my church on that night but I will try make an effort!

Oh I'm sorry! I didn't know that there was already an event scheduled for Tuesday nights. It wasn't on the website calendar and I guess I've just been out of the loop lately :o Is that PvP event going to be every Tuesday at 10PM?

I should mention that on Thursdays after Bible Study we will be having officer meetings on the first Thursday of every month. So we could skip Outreach Night on those days or someone else could lead those weeks.

Also I'd like to hear your suggestions for missions/quests!

Well we have talked about Thunder Head Keep for a while now and that is a place we could impress people with our "love and cooperation " as it can be very frustrating. Most Desert missions need team unity as well.

I can't make every Thursday, but it is the best night.

Missions---an obvious one THK. Any of the Desert Missions. Abaddon's Mouth. Hell's Precipice.
(I have Factions, but haven't played enough to know the missions to make a judgment. I'm at Boreas Seabed and have really had no problems getting there.)

Quests---Villiany, Captured Son, Mayhem in The Marketplace.

Miscellaneous---UW & FOW

Also, We don't have to pick just hard missions, we can pick easy one's helping out new players or people that need Masters (in Factions) or Bonus (In Prophecies).

just some ideas.

It (PvP night) is on Tuesdays for the time being but it may changed back to mondays after football season. I really wish i could make it on thursdays to Bible study and this I think Thursday is the best night even if I cannot attend.

unfortunately, i work tuesday nights, and i tend to go visit my girlfriend at her church on thursdays, so i can't do either one.

i've tended to play more during the day, recently, though. that's what i get for having friends that want to do things at night, the only time i can play is when they're all at work/school....

It's all making sense to me now!

Lucky! :p

One thing I'd recommend, I think the parties should really consist mostly of guildies and we should only pick up 2-3 outside players at a time, at least when we have enough people around to make this practical. This would probably increase the chances of group success (a maximum of 2-3 players in the group will turn out to be rage-quitters :) ) but more importantly it will ensure that they come away associating the gratitude and good feelings they have with our Christian guild and its members.

Vibro,

Your post made no sense I don't understand what arguments you were referencing. The goal of this event is to be a positive influence on the non-guildies.

In general you are always going to have a 10 year old in the group who like to talk about pointless things that are immature.

Either that or a complete moron that causes the people to start doing caps yelling.

that's why we limit the number of outsiders.

off topic kinda---I do wish there was a way to kick people in the middle of a mission though. PUGs can get kind of "undesirable" at times.

hehehe, kick all the people at the end of an elite mission :P
thats probably the reason you cant, but anet should have like a /kick(enterplayer here) and a majority vote would kick them. that would be nice, if not abused still.

Ya especially for when y ou have leachers in AvA or when doing missions.
