Perfect World - does anybody play it?

A friend told me about Perfect World recently and I just fired up the game a few days ago. The graphics look good, the levelling is fast so far (level 12 assassin in hardly any playtime) and best of all, it's free. :) Just wondering if anybody else plays the game.

Server: Dreamweaver
Character name: Fidoc

Tykur and a couple others from http://www.ccgaming.com/ played it but that was a loooooong time back. They may not be playing it anymore. I can't even find Tykur on CC for some reason now...

>.> <.< uhhhh err I've yet to see a "free" grinder out there that does not become shall we say "a death spiral of bordem" XD at higher levels. That's how they get you to buy their level faster gunk from the item shop. Silkroad, 9 Dragons and Mabinogi were all smooth sailing at low levels and snail crawl leveling (or no leveling at all) at higher levels without paid stuff. It's possible Perfect World is different I just doubt it having looked into several in depth. I do remember the CC people had a level cap to join their Perfect World parties and that might be why. Just a friendly heads up before you get a lot of time invested.

We'll have to see how far I actually make it as far as levelling go. A friend told me the level cap is 100 or something. Not that I really care, I rarely ever get a character to max level anyway. I just haven't done a MMO for awhile and currently do not have the extra funds available to a monthly subscription and need a 'fix', lol. I don't know which game I'd play if I went with the paid subscription option; out of all the games I've played in the past, City of Heroes/Villains was by far my favorite. Although the last one I tried (Warhammer Online) I really didn't give a decent chance, I think I only got my Dwarf Engineer up to level 16 or so.

You've probably tried it but what about Guild Wars as we have a group of guys that play it http://www.cgalliance.org/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=101 . Of course it still costs a one time payment to get the game. It may or may not be your thing as it is a bit different than most mmorpgs (although it's not a grinder at least not like the free mmorpgs). I ended up not liking it becuase of a tiny thing most people won't even notice so it may be for you.

You may also try want to try out Allods for a free mmorpg if Perfect World doesn't pan out. It is grindy like the others :( but it is pretty.

I haven't actually tried out Guild Wars, but I have a couple friends that play a lot of different pc games and whose opinion I value quite highly, that have played it and really didn't like the gameplay. So I have shied away from it myself.

As far as visuals go, I actually like Perfect World quite a bit; it's quite bright - a little bit like WoW.

Yeah it wasn't for me either it just has a couple guys to play with that's all.
