Please don't make impulse decisions...

I've noticed in the past week that two or so people have left the guild just because they were being ganked constantly. Remember you can always use the spirit healer to rez and there are plenty of other areas to quest in. Please don't tell me that it costs a lot to repair...no it doesn't, well not if you don't wait for them to gank you 100 times!

Everyone here has been through that ganking process...its part of the game, just make a slight change in how you play it.

Now if you may excuse me I have to go gank some lowbie hordes ;)

Yeah, it's always sad to see members leave :( . Many of them are friends of mine, and it's disappointing to see them go. :o

I know people have been asking for some kind of policy on stuff like this, so I am going to pull out my policy book handed to me from God, the Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth.

Luke 10:29-37

Please, be neighbourly to those who seek help. And if you are being camped, ask for help. I do not expect everybody to be online all the time so that we always have a group of lvl 60's on line to help people who are being camped.

If you are being camped:

1. Ask for help from guildmates.
2. Ask for help in the general chat or localdefense chat channels.
3. Log off for 20 minutes and get something to eat. When you log back on, they will be gone.

As far as I know, and I have hunted the all the forums I can find, Choose Joy is not on anybodies blacklist or Kill on Sight list. So there is no reason to believe that there are people out there hunting us or that there are people out there that will not help.

Really? Kind of hard to get help when the only person that helps you is level 50 and runs off to do an instance run after the horde ganks you the fifth time in a row. No, Duskwood was about the only territory I had to quest in at the time, and I really didn't feel like going to the Wetlands to be ganked every five minutes, instead of on the hour.

This guild MADE the decision to play on a PvP server, in full knowledge that all PvP really amounts to at this time is a griefer haven. I put up with the bull for long enough, I'm sick and tired of paying 15 dollars of my precious money a month to play with a guild on a server where I am constantly harassed. No thanks. I'd rather play on a server where the average IQ is above 50 and the players are actually honorable and caring.

I understand your frustration, but most high level toons can't leave what they're doing because most are in middle of something to stop right then and there to come help. Plus most are in groups/raids...

But I think its better to do what you enjoy, especially when you're paying for it. I would do the same if I wasn't having a good time. Its just like anything in life. Good luck.

On a personal note, I leveled a toon on rp server and the chat in general is worst then what I see on pvp or pve servers. If not that, i'd see freaks running around with their clothes off..but i guess that's my only experience with rp servers...so I don't know about the iq thing you mentioned...I just wanted to share my personal experience with rp server.

Keep in mind PvP servers aren't for everyone. Some people simply enjoy questing on their own and do not wish to PvP. The difference is that normal servers are optional PvP while you are forced into it on a PvP server.

If you have problems with it though, you cannot make a rash decision and simply leave the guild. Talk it over with the leaders, change servers if you wish (We DO have a PvE server, btw).

It's a good idea to ask in guild or general chat for help if you are being camped/griefed. Just today in several separate occasions someone asked for help in general chat and each time a higher level player responded. However, you also can't expect everyone to just drop what they're doing every time someone needs help. They want to play the game just as much as you do.

The BEST solution, if you want to remain on a PvP server, is find ways to prevent being ganked or griefed in the first place. Instead of questing alone, find a group! Instead of questing in StV or Hillsbrad, find a more secluded place such as Desolace. Or even better, run instances, where horde can't hurt you at all.

The important thing is to have fun. If you can't stand the ganking on a PvP server, then by all means, play on a PvE server (Hopefully our guild sanctioned one). Keep in mind though, that people have different tastes. While you may not like horde ganking you, many of us still enjoy the PvP aspect of our server. Whichever works best for you, and that is the reason there are different types of servers in the first place.

Bored 13-year-old idiots (most with max leveled characters on PvP servers I assume) roll on RP servers to irritate and grief the mature RP community. As soon as you leave lowbie territory it ends.

If that's so, why are ToJ members forced to play on one? Don't pull the "we have a PvE guild as well" rountine, you know very well that hardly anyone ever plays there.

And what reason is there to talk over it with the leaders? What am I going to ask them to do, transplant the entire guild to an RP or normal server?

Nobody is forcing anybody to stay on the PvP server. Most stay because those characters of theirs have had a lot of time invested in them. Others stay because that is where most people are because of that time investment.

If the PvP style is not for you, play more on the other server. I'm sorry more people don't play over there and I would like for more to do so, especially those who are frustrated with the PvP aspect in its current state.

i think evi (lore's sister) has the highest lvl horde character in our guild as a 21 troll shaman (i think), or its an UD warlock i forget which one you could beat her out and be the first ToJ'er to 60 on our horde server/guild.

There are an equal number of morons on any type of server. I've met my fair share of nice people, both alliance AND horde on Illidan. I'm glad we came to this server because I wouldn't have met them otherwise.

So it's better to play on a server NONE of us play on? If no one plays there, maybe you could change that... by actually playing there. It has to start somewhere.

Wish I could have met them...I can only remember being in one group on Illidan where all the members actually knew what they were doing.

How do you know I didn't play there? Of course it starts somewhere, but when you are constantly the only person on, or people get on and then leave because they "hate horde", there's no point.

I'm sorry we can't find a solution for you Maxx. We had two people asking for a horde server, and we did that. We had a few people asking for a PvE server, so we choose the horde to go on a PvE server, trying to kill two birds with one stone. Unfortunatly the real demand for horde and PvE in this chapter has not been as great as everybody thought and \ or made it out to be.

I can't force members to change anymore then we can force you to stay were you are not having fun. You are right, you are paying $15 a month and are entitled to enjoy the game as you see fight.

Unfortunatly, I can not offer you anything with the guild that will meet your requirements. My brother started a horde character on a completly different realm so that he can play with his wife more because she doesn't enjoy the PvP aspect. Within a couple of weeks they had a couple of lvl 41 or 42 shamans. If you are interested in joining them, I might be able to put you into contact with them on the server they play on.

That is all I can do for you.

Thank you, but I didn't expect anything from anyone. I simply realized this was going nowhere, and quit the guild and the server. Some people apparently can't understand this simple decision. I thanked everyone for their help before I quit, I didn't get all angry and leave in a rage.

I have joined two RP guilds and am enjoying it quite thoroughly, and might try to join The Forgiven. Sure there won't be a lot of PvP at 60, but that's what battlegrounds is for.

And if anyone wants something off my characters you are welcome to PM me. I know I sent Evii a blue dagger and charged 15 gold as a joke, so let me know when you get it and I'll resend it for free.

MaxX i would be glad to help you get your quests out of the way so you wont be ganked so much. I have a level 26 warlock, Vassalis and i think your mage is 26, correct? If im right then its a perfect match, and now that Illidan is down im on Cenarius playing my shaman. If you ever feel the urge to say Hi on Illidan, speak to me and ill stop what im doing and help you.

~~~ EDIT!
...didnt realize there were TWO pages lol woops
OK well i'm more cautious than ever now about switching to WoE. If I was rich I'd buy an online server of one of these for Christisns to play but I'm not. I also don't like "gannking" I guess you call it. On Ragnarok PVP is only in a certian area. That being said they still find ways to kill lower level characters. I also don't buy that this is part of the game. That part should be optional and anyone who violates that against another player should be deleted on the spot. I'm happy to hear few play on the non PvP server. Makes my decision clearer though I'm still not sure as to what to do.
It is optional...hence pvp and pve servers :)
OK trying to understand all this though. IF I decided to play and really didnt want to do the People killing other people type then I go on a PVE server? Also are you saying if I do \that we do not have a guild there?
Counselor, I don't know why but I find your posts very confusing to me, lol.
We (as in our chapter and community as a whole) have two guilds. Our primary, largest, and most active guild is Alliance only, plays on the PvP server Illidan, and we have roughly 60 members on this server. Our secondary guild is comprised of our Horde characters, is on the PvE (or non-PvP) server Cenarius, and we have about 20 members on this particular server.
Our FAQ page may be able to clear some of this up better for you than I can explain it on a post in the forums.
