I need to head to bed shortly to get up early in the morning, so I'll keep this short:
I received a call last Friday morning from a local employment agency that was looking to hire someone for a short-term project (approximately 5 days) in the area. I went in for an interview that afternoon, went home, and received a call shortly before the end of business hours that the company's client selected me for the position.
I started work Monday doing desktop support-type work, which I'll be continuing throughout at least the end of the week. It's possible (and, from what other employees tell me, probable) that they can find enough work to keep me busy for a second week.
It's tough getting used to waking up before 7 a.m. again, after being able to sleep in for so long, but it's a good position and a welcome return to the working world.
