Question for Wow Gamers on Warlocks

Hi, I found your site as I have been playing WoW for awhile but in Non Christian guilds and its been bugging me. I have also been looking at playing a new class and have taken a mage to 60 who I just love. So i took a pally to the 50's but....it just didnt do it for me. Next a rogue and Hunter into the 40's and again..blah. Now I guess I like the squishy classes so I have thought about playing a warlock. So i started one without researching and find that the pet line is called demonolgy. Hmmmmmmmm. Not impressed, but it seems a class I finally enjoy. Just wondering what the opinions out there from other Christians who play WoW is? I know I have seen WArlocks on the rosters for some Christian guilds so i know some people play them. Anyway guys any info and discusion would be great!

Peace

Its a game man not a religion or faith. My main is a Warlock. That does not make me satanic. However you have to do what your heart says. If you have issues in your spirit about it don't do it. As for me its a game and makes no difference what class I play. There is no issue in my eyes.

This is a question that I have struggled with with many RPG's that I've played. On the one hand it is just a game, but on the other should we be casual about pretending to do things that God has told us not to in real life? Is it easier for society to accept ideas like Wiccan because it's considered okay to play games with witchcraft? I still wrestle with what to do. I do agree with Reco that if you feel in your spirt it is wrong then don't do it. I may also suggest that until you have a peace about it one way or another don't do it either. I hope this helps you.

I believe that demonology is a real and terrifying thing to surround yourself in and at all costs you should run from it. Alas, program codes and pixels do not make demonology. If, in order to play a warlock in WoW, you had to be well versed with the Book of the Dead, hold seances, surround yourself with ruines and perform rituals of summoning at a summoning circle, then I'd say run like the wind.

But warlocks aren't the only class to worry about. The priests in WoW do not follow the one only true God. Palladins do not get their power from the true source of the Light.

What matters is the heart of the player behind them. If your heart is saying stay away from Class X, then follow through on that. I would applaud your convictions and fortitude to stick to them.

It is a game. If you really wanted to be picky... I think that every class other than warriors would be blasphemous. There is no such thing as Magic. Paladins and Priests serve The Light - not Christianity. Druids serve Elune - a fake god. Shamans - i dunno. Mages do magic (not sure about them). All classes are blasphemous. Thats how i view it - as a Warlock player :D

I think it would be a problem if I played my warlock role in real life. Besides Christianity doesn't go into World of Warcraft, it comes from the people who play it. What I believe in real life should have nothing to do at all with the game. I play an undead warlock but I really don't feel any more evil or good from playing my human paladin.

I love being a warlock...if anything about it bothers me its the darn nakid succubus. It is quite evident this game was designed by MEN!

Kepo ive got a lvl 37 i think warlock and while yes i do enjoy playing her i try not to get too into her becasue as everyone has said this is just a game and anything that happens in game shouldnt affect your life because ur not assuming the warlocks character u already have ur own along with a personality that now defines u and ur warlock
