Raid Healers: Please read.

Since there have been a few occasions lately where we didn't have a seasoned raid heals leader and I don't normally play that roll I would like some discussion on how to setup raid healing assignments according to ability, class, and priority.

I know I go into a raid and heal who I'm assigned to first and hit others as necessary. I don't spend much time thinking about others roles. I would like to be able to help out in healing assignments when asked by the raid leader in future raids and make assignments that benefit our Redeemed raiders.

I'm going to download Healing Assign Addon in preparation for future raids.

Please respond with rack and stack order of assignments if you can. This will only help us all.

Thank you.

When I've done healing assignments I've normally done something along the lines of...

Paladins on tanks (cause of a lack of AOE healing)
Shamans on melee DPS because of chain heal (they also make good main tank healers)
Druids can pretty much do it all. They are great for mitigating damage with their hots and can also top off raid members/tanks quickly.

Priests can also pretty much do it all (they have great AOE healing if they are holy)
Disc - main tank heals
Holy - whatever you need them to do

Also, healers need to note that they are assigned to a certain target meaning that target takes priority but that they can also feel free to throw around heals elsewhere when needed. If the tank is at 100% health they can throw out a raid heal or two.

I mostly go with what Bill just said, and I'm sorry I havn't been to the last three raids, homework has had me swamped.. i'm finished though and I will be there tonight! Not to worry =]
