Rebuilt my UI. Looking for advice.

Icthus pointed out that my UI was a little....shall we say cluttered. It was also a little dated. I've been working on a new version of it that looks cleaner. There's still some stuff you can't see but I like it better this way. Any suggestions?

And yes, that is a night elf mage in borean tundra.

It would probably look sleeker if you used a different texture than the Blizzard one. Try using Roth Square and change the padding to 4 and it looks really sleek.

I'll give that a shot. Any other ideas? I was thinking of making a bunch of [mod:] macros so that I could cut down the number of buttons like professions and such.

Look at Tukui.org

They have a bunch of edits and it is a great all in one.

Ewok's, CGamer, and myself use it.

I liked the way Tukui looked, but the one I used couldn't be modified (its the one CGamer uses in his gnome priest screen shot).

You have to find one you like.

I'm thinking of completely redoing my UI as well. Are these ones that you've mentioned all-in-one? Like, will they modify my map, text box, unit frames, cast bars, etc? I have a different addon for each of those right now, and I'd like to pare it down a bit.

Yes.

There are about 12 viable Tukui edits. Some like Odale says have frames that are harder to move but can be done.

The one Ewok's and I use is great and then you can add things to it pretty easily.

I am NOT a UI geek. But, I like to change the look and love the enhancements different things bring. It takes me about a week to feel comfortable with a UI.

Now, I will have to change my UI because my current one is raid built and we are heading back to leveling...

If you want to hide some of your action bars (i.e. Professions and game menu) you can hide the bar. If you're using Bartender 4 you can set it to "Always Hide" or "Hide". If you choose "Hide" it will show up when you mouse over the bar and you can choose how opaque you want the button. Just put it to 0 if you want the button to disappear. On my UI I have my bags, the game menu and all of my professions hidden and I just mouse over them.

So, I just tried teh Tukui. Reaction: If I wanna play WoW, I wanna play WoW ... not EVE.

It is very slick, very integrated, very polished, I'll grant. But to me ... just a radically different feel to the game.

Which tukui? There are several if you didn't notice?

But yeah it has a more slimmed futuristic look to the frames.

I like it because I can actually see more of the game and the UI blends to the back ground for me.

Now if my gaming rig had not broken and I could have my leet 1900x1200 all would be right in the world.

I'm all about the sleek look..though my UI at the onset looks like the stock tukui its modded for my personal preferences. There are quite a few things that only show in combat or in group/raid etc..dot trackin and a few other things

I looked at some of the other modded tukui's but they were just to much additives to it for my preference

Just my 2 cents here...
Move one of the bars on the right side to the center block, that way you can move the 2 blocks above it down so they'll line up better with your chat box i'm assuming is on the left.

I really like LUI. It's not super customizable, but the default setup is really nice, and uses bartender4 well.
