Recommendations for a new headset? (Oct. 2008)

Yes, I know we've had threads about recommendations for headsets before, but those threads are old and I'm sure new headsets have come out since.

I've been having troubles with my Logitech headset (that came with my UT2004 Collector's Edition) on TeamSpeak. More specifically, my voice cuts out after only a few seconds of transmission. That makes it very awkward when trying to lead a staff meeting on the TS server.

Unfortunately, money is still tight. My wife is employed, but I'm not. I wouldn't even be shopping for new headsets if the left channel on my other headset (which cost more and had better headphones than my Logitech headset) hadn't stopped working AND my current headset wasn't cutting out on TeamSpeak.

Thoughts?

(And could my transmission issue possibly be a software issue and not a hardware issue?)
 
honestly forget the headset and get this mic, the quality is spot-on and I have never had any problems. Used it on XP/Vista64/MacOSx. I love it and have recommend it to many ppl who all love it!

Then you can use any earphone/earbuds you want and not sacrifice quality.

That might be an option for when I build a new desktop gaming rig, but having a separate mic and headphones would be awkward when playing TF2 on my notebook computer.
