Recommended ROM for Samsung Galaxy Nexus?

I bought a Galaxy Nexus directly from Google back in 2012. Google abandoned the Nexus last year. After updating my work mobile to Cyanogenmod 11 earlier this month, I've been itching to put a new ROM on my personal phone.

Thing is, I don't know which is best for my purposes.

Sure, I could read through 30 threads on XDA Developers (and I still might), but I thought I'd come to you all first and see if you have an Android ROM that you've used and really, really like.

I'm looking for anything on a current version of Android (4.4 and up), regularly updated, been around long enough to give me confidence it won't be abandoned, and, of course, plays nice with the GSM model of the Galaxy Nexus and Straight Talk on AT&T towers.

Any suggestions?

I've sparred with Cyanogenmod on my work mobile (a Droid RAZR MAXX, which was a generous gift from one of our community members) often enough that I'd lean toward choosing another ROM, but maybe CM is more reliable on a Nexus device.
