Redeemed's Goals for 2006

Elihu

Tribe of Judah Staff Manager
I want to take some time, as this year wraps up and the new year unfolds before us, to reflect back on where we were and look forward to our plans for next year. First off, let me say that it has been a pleasure to serve you all during my time here as guild master and even before then as a staff member. Looking back over the past year I see our ups and downs as a guild. I also see those members who have remained faithful over these times and have been there for support for everyone. We've grown alot in this past year and I expect that we will see more growth over the next year as well.

Last year was a definite growing year for us as we had Lee (Tebran, Russel) to start our guild off on the right foot. There were many memorable times made back then that some of us will probably never forget. Then Cory stepped up as Lee stepped down, and took us to our next level...laying the foundation of what we have today. God has truly blessed our guild and our leadership thus far.

Today, I stand before you, humbled to serve you to the capacity that God gives to me. I have already instituted some positions for the guild, and they have been filled with volunteers that seek to help out their fellow guildies by donating their time. During this year there will be new positions opened as well as a few older positions refilled. I would like to give you a heads up on my planning for this next year for our guild as well.

I feel that our guild has accomplished much but has grown to the extent that we could afford to do more. We have been interviewed and talked about on forums, newsjournals, and such and I want to make sure that we set ourselves apart as a shining beacon among guilds on WoW. So let's take a look at what needs to be accomplished in 2006.

#1 priority = Ministry to our people.
#2 priority = Fellowship in guild.
#3 priority = Expanding growth even more through recruiting.
#4 priority = Raid\Gear setup for guildies.
#5 priority = Quarterly guild meetings.

Priority 1 -- The living in Christ ministries group will be recruiting a couple of new members to help keep up with the pace of 1 Bible study per week as well as an added responsibility of prayer for our members. The Living in Christ staff will be setting up a plan to ask two members of the guild for prayer requests for their lives and pray for them for that week. (more to be posted on this soon.)

Priority 2 -- There will be a new staff position made for creating and maintaining fellowship in the guild. This position will be called events coordinator. The duties of this position will include keeping track of calendar events for guild on the guild website\forums\guildads (i.e. MC runs, ZG runs, Bible studies, etc.) as well as creating guild fun nights. (i.e. guild fishing trips, guild enchant nights, etc.) More to come on this point.

Priority 3 -- Recruiting has been going strong except we seem to have dropped off from our posts on forums. I would like to make a meeting with the recruiters to make sure they are all on the same page as far as inviting to guild and the procedures that follow as well.

Priority 4 -- Miriallia and Avesther have started putting together the procedures for guild runs. We want to put forth a plan to help level 60's get geared up and ready for joining in on ZG, MC, Onyxia, and BWL runs. Look to our forums for more info and signups for these runs.

Priority 5 -- The guild will start having quarterly meetings in which everyone will have a bit of input as to how things should run or how things are running and what they would like to see changed. This is also an opportunity for us to come together as a guild and pray for direction and wisdom. This will include all guild members.

I hope this gives a bit of insight as to what God has lain on my heart to try to accomplish over the course of this next year. I do pray for his wisdom and guidance on how to take this guild to the next level (so to speak) and would ask that you all do the same for me. I am excited about this upcoming year and what it holds for us all, and look forward to shring it with all of you. God bless!!

I like what you have here Elihu.... these are my thoughts:

Because of the large number of new people joining the guild (20-30 in the last month) including those already playing the game ie. higher level characters, I think it might be important to have something/someone in place to help them when they join. From helping them get bags and tabbards...to helping them learn the loot rules. I have several ideas on how to to this if you are interested.

I would also like to see raids being set up as guild runs for the lower level characters as well, which I beleive is in the works...but is not stated as a goal for this year.

I would be willing to help out some in that roll. I already have been with Ameden, Darkwolfe and Kallim. They are my real life friends, but I enjoy helping out at times. I would be curious about how often I would be needed to run people through quests or instances.

I have an Idea/concept that would work for guild runs for every ten levels I used in DAOC that would work here:

Not trying to step on toes, if someone is in charge of all this and would like logistic help, contact me. I am not talking the end game raids but the lower to middle level instances stuff.

All levels could break close to this

1-10, 11-20, 21-30, 31-40, 41-50, 51-60

You could run instances ever week or two for each group of levels; each of the corresponding levels rounding to the nearest tenth. Those in the middle (15, 25, 35, 45, 55) going to the next highest.

You would need some one who was of the appropriate level to commit and run it. So if you had a level 25 Pally; you could; if you were willing, find all the instances appropriate for that level and meet every week or two and run something for all those of that appropriate level. The old 10 up 10 down theory.

This would do wonders to build fellowship and camaraderie. We would need six peeps and an assistant who would be willing to commit to every week or two to plan, execute, and run an instance for those peeps who are of that level. 2 times a month is not bad for commitment.

This way we could get everyone involved and together in adventures. And we could train and teach guildies, good looting behavior and pulling and crowd control techniques and the whole ball of wax,, so that they have the skills to represent and handle end game in a way that makes Redeemed shine like the wonderful gem it is because I feel we have some of the finest peeps here in our little next of the woods.

I have a good write up somewhere so I would be willing to help out.

Just a thought , pm, pst, contact me if this is something we are interested, if its already in the works and being planed, no worries,  I am not trying to step on toes here just trying to add suggestions.

To expand on Papatoads idea, maybe we need a mentorship program. Not sure how one would go about doing it. Do we have class captains? And those class captains would be responsible for training up and comers in their class. Do we put people level 30 to 39 in charge of assisting those who are 1 to 20. Put 60s in charge of those who are 40 to 59?

I can run all and lead instances. I wouldn't have a problem taking 5 people to SM and training them to run it. It would be done obviously as a 6 person raid with me mentoring them on the pulls and how to set up hunter pulls, saps, sheeps, dealing with difficult situations, dealing with easy situation, teach them what to look for in each situation. That way, they learn the instance plus they all learn a little about each class and how to properly pull so they can go into PuG and get them working as an effective team. Also gets them learning their class better so by the time they hit 60, they can jump into a ZG run with us (maybe a MC run by that time) and not have to be taught what is required of a hunter during a boss pull, or what types of pulls required the priest to drop a sheild on a tank.
