Request for new forum skin

Yea if any you guys got some ideas, or know how to make themes for vbullentin at all, go over to the editors guild forum and post away. Maybe we can come up with a small group that works on each part.

I've tinkered with vBulletin skins in the past, but actually coding one is the fun part.

You may want to check www.vbulletin.org. Their forums can generally answer any question you have about vBulletin.

You'll need license information from HCS to use portions of the board, however.

I'll keep checking back, if nobody shows interest I could help. I've never made a vBulletin theme/skin before but im sure theres nothing to it (with the help of a guide).

Personally, I like the way the vBulletin skin looks, but it's typical for users to get bored with the same skin day after day. And I guess a custom one for CGA would be cool. One thing I hate about forums that have mods and custom skins is the broken functionality. I've come across forums that are rittled with annoying bugs due to custom mods and skins.

What would be cool is insted of NBS on the icons it said CGA lol

Check this skin out! I think it is perfect for CGA.

Three problems:
  1. It would cost approximately $16 USD.
  2. It uses a fixed width format, which I don't like at all. (I have my monitor set to 1280x960 and I'm guessing many other forum users use a resoluation above 800x600.)
  3. As Whon mentioned, having "NBS" plastered over the buttons would not be cool.
Still, it's encouraging to see people reply to this thread and offer suggestions. :)

A commercial skin isn't out of the question, but it would have to be far snazzier to convince me.

I thought the NBS would raise a question. If they didn't provide a clean graphic it could easily be altered to have CGA or nothing at all on it. Too bad it's fixed width though.
