resurrecting the late night group

I realize this is a little pre-mature as Cata wont be released for another month, but I wanted to let idea germinate...

After people have hit 85, I have strong interest (and hoping others might too) in resurrecting the late night group -- a small group of raiders dedicated to 2 (perhaps 3) nights a week. starting some time after 7pm ST. (We did 8pm before which seemed to work well)

Are you interested?
 
You can do it as long as everyone is clear it's a pug and not a redeemed run. Meaning no advertising in gchat. The late night group before was beginning to cause drama and issues. If you make it a PUG you can do whatever you like. :)

I was suggesting a guild approved/supported raid. I'm not privy to what ever drama/issues you are referring to.

I do not understand how another raiding time inherently means guild drama.
 
In order to be a guild raid it needs to be run by an officer. The late night raid was a failed experiment because it was led by non-officers that had good intentions but did things the wrong way. It created problems for leadership because the way things were being done was against redeemed raiding policy. And we ended up having to step in and make things right. The reason the late night raid stopped was because we didn't have an officer who could commit to lead it.

From now on (starting cataclysm) any raid not led by a raid officer is considered a pug and can't be advertised in guild chat. If we can get an officer to step up to lead it then we can make a redeemed late night raid. Otherwise the only way to do it is to consider it a pug and not advertise in guild chat.
 
Sounds good. I'm not looking to lead it. Just seeing if there are others that would be interested in it. I was hoping that if enough people were interested then we could probably find an officer to lead.
 
I bet there is some interest around it! As cataclysm draws closer we can definitely see what kind of interest is there and try and get a group together :)
 
I thought this sounded interesting to me...but I don't get home from work until 8:30pm PST...so 9pm PST would be cool...but I currently do not have an 80 on Stonemaul...so ignore me...lol

Shagz I miss those runs bro!

I would heartily endorse what Bill said - we need to make sure that if we do resurrect any kind of late night run then it needs to be handled by leadership. Our officers are really awesome people and one of the things they do in raids that you might not notice is keep a lid on drama and really work hard to be fair to everyone. Trust me when I say that is no easy task, and when Redeemed enjoys a good run it has a lot to do with good leadership during the raid. It often goes unnoticed but just pug raid for a while and you will see the difference.
 
I'm down for a late night run! Server time ftw! I doubt we'll ever do late night 25 mans, but maybe a late night 10?
 
I'd be willing to help w/ that group. My schedule will be up in the air with me graduating and looking for a job around that time.
