Server issues / missing posts

FYI all -- the CGA servers had some issues today ... they have since been fixed but the restore point for posts was 7 a.m. Monday so pretty much everything posted yesterday (1/5) is gone. So it's not some zealous forum admin gone crazy deleting stuff, just some rare technical glitches..

Wow really? A spam thread? very orginal gilga.

I go for meta-spam ... spam disguised as non-spam that inevitably leads to more spam. At least that's how it always turns out. Maybe if I post spam stuff people will actually respond with meaningful content. Hmmm, let's think about that. Can't be any MORE of a spam magnet, at least...

Roger that.

You can check this thread for more information.

The bad news is that we did lose some posts. :(

The good news is that we run backups every day, so we only lost 12-24 hours worth of posts. :)

As Gilga said, the problem was caused by rare technical glitches. We're good to go again.

converting simple 5mb .mp3's into 250mb .wav files playing at 8,400kbps is alot of fun :D

*edit*
and formatting a hard drive that will only contain music files while i'm doing it.. time to build up my music collection again :-D

Ok, I've got to ask. Why would you purposefully use up 50x the space? Can you decompress and un-lose the packets that were trunc'd in the original creation of the mp3?
