Space Empire/Sim Games

Is anyone into space empire building or economic sim games? It seems that several have been released lately and I wanted to get someone's take on these intriguing games.

Go with GalCiv II. I haven't heard of the other two but GalCiv II is a gem.

Been addicted to the Galactic Civ II demo here lately. Picking up the game today. I love it! It truly is "Master of Orion 4" in my book.

You may want to add Space Rangers 2 to the list.

I did look into Space Rangers 2, but it was a tad too quirky (and I normally like quirky) for me. I also am more of a turn-based strategy fan than a RTS fan.

Well, you could put it under the 'space empire' category. Zerg are trying to take over... form an empire... in space...

I did look into Space Rangers 2, but it was a tad too quirky (and I normally like quirky) for me. I also am more of a turn-based strategy fan than a RTS fan.

The RTS aspect of Space Rangers 2 is very small, one that you can also opt out of in game. The majority of the game is turn based.
