StarCraft game night?

I just re-installed StarCraft and Brood War and patched to the latest version.

There's been talk of a StarCraft game night in the near future. Any tentative dates and times yet?

Why not just have an RTS night? :p CNC4, SC2, SupCom 2, and DoW2:Chaos Rising all coming out very soon.

Because I'm unemployed, my budget for new games is precisely $0.00 USD, StarCraft II isn't out yet, and I didn't get a SC2 beta key.

But if you guys want to put together a RTS night, that's fine by me. I'll only be playing StarCraft, though.

EDIT: If someone wants to coordinate a RTS game night (one not specific to StarCraft), please do, but please use the ToJ General Discussion Forum to do so.

I've been playing tons of SC2, but I can probably make some time for some BW!
SC2 = StarCraft II or Supreme Commander 2?

Because if it's StarCraft II, then I'm quite jealous.

I still think Blizzard should give anyone who's led a gaming organization for over a decade (especially if that organization has over 1,500 members) access to all their betas. Just a thought.

Yes, Starcraft II. Did you contact Blizzard directly or register under their fansite program?

when are you guys gonna stop noobin' it up and just play a game?

How about.. Tuesday night, does that work for everyone?

Understandable, Tek, but I was meaning for a designated night could incorporate all RTS games, Starcraft/BW included, not just beta/new/non-SC2 games. We can do it separately though.

I never heard that is was possible to register for the fansite program. In fact, I didn't even know there was a formal program for fansites. :( If I had, I would have registered.

I still don't know if we'd be eligible, even if we have one of the longest running (11 years this May) StarCraft groups in the world. Yes, that's right, the StarCraft chapter has never been closed since Tribe of Judah was founded in May 1999.

Do you know if there's still any way to register as a fansite?

EDIT: I'm resigned to the very likely possibility that I won't have an opportunity to participate in the StarCraft II beta at all, which is ironic, considering I participated in two previous alphas and one previous beta.

That's fine. I don't know how much crossover there would be between RTS games (e.g. players who play StarCraft but also play Red Alert 3), though.

Regardless, I appreciate any idea that aims to breathe new life into our Strategy Section.

If you didn't proactively contact Blizzard, I don't know how you can expect them to know to give you a beta key :(
Well, I was half-kidding when I said that leading a gaming group for a decade should qualify a person for all beta programs (though, now that it's said, it doesn't sound so ridiculous).

At this point, I may just consider the StarCraft II beta a wash and contact Blizzard regarding entry into the Cataclysm alpha or beta.
