Hey, please support this thread. Our guild is constantly running into the cap these days, and it means we're starting to have to boot people out. And that's not good.

I made a petition on the WoW forums. Please show your support by posting in it.
 
So do I, but i really need to get some work done today LOL.

You can make a full time job out of replying to threads on the WoW forums.
 
we are not capped we are able to do more then 500 but the names wont show on the guild list but people are still in the guild, like the night we had cassie on but not on list.
 
Just dropping a line to mention that someone who is presumably from the SGA has made a fairly nasty comment in the thread on the WoW forums. Do not respond in kind or really at all... it's not worth our time.
 
It appears that either the WoW forums are having problems, or I've been banned from them. If it is the latter, presumably someone has taken it upon themselves to flag my content as "objectionable" despite there being no evidence to suggest that it is... I'll keep an eye on it for the next day and see if it changes. I'll also be attempting to contact a Blizzard GM and see if I can find out why this would happen.

Turns out I'm wrong -- Blizzard temporarily bans your account while your credit card is being accessed for payment (not sure why, maybe to reduce hackers' ability to learn credit card numbers?) so I wasn't banned, just paying.
 
Have you considered making an alt guild? I am in a huge horde guild right now that reached caps with main chars so they made another guild just for alts and they can all chat as one guild with an addon called guild2guild.
 
We've tossed the idea around a few times, but due to the close-knit and closely controlled (to be honest) nature of our guild, we're not sure we could maintain the quality and feel of our guild if it were spread over two guilds.
 
I can understand your feelings about that. There is a feeling of only one guild with the 2 I am in because we use same forums and all talk in game chat. You can't even tell if the person is in main guild or alt guild from the chat because it is all relayed thru that addon.

Do you allow a limit on alts? Or just a main is allowed?
 
No real enforced limit, but when we approach the 500 mark, an officer usually goes through and clears out alts that haven't logged on in a while.
 
I put in my two bits but I really wouldn't expect a response from Blizzard. I am sure they have a policy of not responding to posts on the Suggestions Forum. I believe this keeps them from possible intellectual property rights litigation if they add something to the game that was posted there.
