Dust can do some wierd things to computers. My old emachine computer that had 2 128 sticks of SDRAM in it, dust built up so much around the DIMM, 1 128 stopped working, cleaned the dust out and re-seated the module and cleaned out the MB DIMM, worked fine (first time I opened it up in probably a year). Computers attract dust like crazy with all the air movement inside of them. At my new high school, the computer technology room got air pressure drops to blow dust out of computers, i havent got a chance to use them yet, hehehe
